Shabbat Message 7-12-08
Enjoy Life

Torah Reading: Psa 8:1-9

1 To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David. O YHWH our Master, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the malak, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;

8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

9 O YHWH our Master, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Enjoy Life

Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Live in the Now!

With the past, I have nothing to do; nor with the future. I live now.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Stop, slow down and enjoy the pleasures that life has to offer.

Instead of dwelling on the past, or dreaming about the future, focus on the present and appreciate all the beauty around you.

The present is all that you have!

“Multitasking is a Moral Weakness.” Try to do only one thing at a time.

Some put off enjoying life until they have more time, money, things

What if it never happens?

The most valuable thing that you have is your time! Stop wasting it on things that don't matter!

Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Mat 6:31-33 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (32) (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. (33) But seek ye first the kingdom of YHWH, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Get back to a simple, frugal lifestyle... Stop being materialistic!

Be satisfied with what you do have!

In your daily routine take time to enjoy others and creation... and ourselves. Look and wonder at the trees, fields and mountains, smell the flowers, hear the birds, and watch the clouds in the sky.

Psalm 8:3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained...

Psa 111:2-4 The works of YHWH are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. (3) His work is honorable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth forever. (4) He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: YHWH is gracious and full of compassion.

Enjoy With Your Taste

Stop poisoning yourself with junk

Eat Slowly....

· We live in a fast food society (Separates families)

· Slow Food (European Movement) “establishes that people should eat and drink slowly, with enough time to taste their food, spend time with the family, friends, without rushing.”

· Don't be in a rush in your life

Be truly thankful for what YHWH has provided

Enjoy With Your Hearing

Listen to uplifting music

Listen to sounds of nature

Listen to others when they speak.. instead of thinking about what you are going to say

Enjoy With Your Touch

Feel and experience the pleasures in your life.

Stop taking things for granted!

Really feel a tree, a rock, your spouses arm (many haven't done that in a long time!) Your children's hair.

Enjoy With Your Sight

Look at the trees, flowers, animals, people around you.

Really see them as YHWH's creation

Appreciate in a pure sense all that you see

Enjoy With Your Smell

"Stop and smell the roses"

Smell some dirt, a flower, some fresh baked bread, a new perfume

Smell is our strongest sense... and we carry more memories with smell than any other sense!

· Begin to Practice Gratitude

Enjoy and appreciate what YHWH has given you. Stop always searching for something better!

Enjoy life and don't take it for granted.

You can't Grumble and be Grateful!

Take care of what you've been given!

1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of YHWH in Messiah YHWSHUA concerning you.

Some Things that will Increase Your Enjoyment in Life!

· Use your Power To Create

YHWH is the ultimate Creator

We have been made in HIS image - Co Creators

Gen 1:27-28 So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them. (28) And Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Draw/Paint

Garden

Cook

Write Something... Anything!

Do woodworking

Play a Musical instrument

· Be willing to see to the good of all - The Big Picture

We are all part of one another!

1Co 12:12-13 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Messiah. (13) For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Rom 12:4-5 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: (5) So we, being many, are one body in Messiah, and every one members one of another.

We need to begin to do for others... not just self!

Php 2:4-5 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. (5) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Messiah YHWSHUA:

Change someone's Life with a smile.. or an ear!

Create Peace in every situation.

Feed The Hungry (Spiritually & Physically)

Make yourself better so the lost have someone to follow!

· Never be discouraged

Failure is a part of life and it happens all the time

Instead of being depressed... learn something from your failure!

At least you tried!

· Focus on the positives of each day

Develop the habit of becoming a positive person!

If you are always complaining about your life, other people will see the bad in you!

Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

1Co 13:4-8 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, (5) Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; (6) Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; (7) Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. (8) Charity never faileth...

· Choose your friends carefully...

If a man has 3 True friends in his life he is blessed!

Pro 17:17 A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Pro 18:24 A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

· Love Your Spouse

Make a total committment to the other

Get To Know Them... their dreams and desires

Learn Together

Speak Intimately (not sexually) - LISTEN! Remember when you 1st met.. you would talk for hours! Now you might talk for 10 minues/day?

Kiss... Embrace... - enjoy each other, relieve stress, build self-esteem, and feel better all around.

· Spend quality time with your Children

Easy to parent a child....

A lot harder to raise them as unto YHWH!

We need to strive to Train up a child in the way he should go...

Pro 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Eph 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of YHWH.

Deu 6:4-7 Hear, O Israel: YHWH our Elohim YHWH is one: (5) And thou shalt love YHWH thy Elohim with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. (6) And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: (7) And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

· Exercise

Having a healthy body leads to a healthy and happy mind.

1Ti 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but righteousness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

It doesn't say Exercise DOESN'T Prosper!!

Strengthening your body strengthens your mind and emotions!

· Be sociable

Meet some new people

Better than sitting bored at home and wallowing in self- pity.

Psa 133:1 A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Heb 10:24-25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: (25) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

· Go for it!

DO what is in your heart in life...

You can do anything you put your mind to!

Do what you love in life... Stop doing things that you don't enjoy.

Make a list of all the things you want to do and do them!

· Do your best at everything so you can be proud of everything you do.

But remember to give yourself a break when you fail.

Col 3:16-17 Let the word of Messiah dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to YHWH. (17) And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of The Master YHWSHUA, giving thanks to YHWH and the Father by him.... 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to YHWH, and not unto men;
