Shalom,

Ever ponder on the spirit of fear?  In Scriptures we learn about many spirits,  understanding that our struggles are not against flesh and blood.  Oftentimes we lash out in anger or hurt against flesh and blood, forgetting that we are told that that is not where our war is to be waged.

2Ti 1:7 For YHWH hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

There are many times we are being buffeted by the spirit of fear.  We being to walk in doubt, anxiety, anguish, worry and unbelief increases in our life.

An example of walking in fear, the parable of the talents.

Mat 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

Mat 25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

Mat 25:26 His master answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

Mat 25:27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

Mat 25:28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

Mat 25:29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

Through Yahushua, we have NOT been given the spirit of fear, but we have been given the spirit of love, power and a sound mind!  We have been given in abundance!  We have been given power over ALL the power of the enemy!

An example that comes to me is I am standing facing something that "appears" to be so fearful, so big, so painful, so horrible!   I may reflect on The Power greater behind me and within me....or the mountain in front of me...I may cling to the One who alone can protect me, who has already delivered me, or, I may run to and with that very thing causing me this pain.  Or again, if you have children, and they are face to face with something that appears to be so horrific and they can run to you for safety, would you not be hurt if they choose to ignore the safety of your arms and run to the very thing trying to harm them?  Each time we operate with the spirit of fear, we are rejecting "power, love and a sound mind" and trading it for the lie we are facing.  Sometime we excuse our fears.  Bills are mounting...how very real!  The cupboards are bare!  The spirit of infirmity is attacking us or our loved ones. we are facing loss, we are being attacked for our faith and being alienated by those who we love, we are the only one in the area we live in that ever heard the Name YHWH, we are going through a breakup of marriage, we just lost a job because we refused to work on Sabbath...I could go on and on of the things that mount up and loom before us, and we begin to walk in fear.   Fear is the opposite of faith.  Faith says, I can to all things...fear says...well almost all things..this one's too big!  Fear has us reject YHWH and His comfort, and find ways and reasons to walk in bitterness and anger. Sometimes we excuse ourselves far to quickly for walking in the spirit of fear, and permit this as part of our walk.

While reading this next verse, it hit home to me what Yahushua was saying in that parable above. Are we desiring to be that slothful fearful servant?

YHWH didn't give us victory to have us walk in loss and thus deny what HE has done in and through us. If we deny what HAS been done...are we ready to accept this?

Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his Elohim, and he shall be my son.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

As I sit and reflect on this, I am filled with awe at YHWH's great love towards us. He loves us so much, that HE would include this message to us.   We are MORE than overcomers!  We overcome by the word of our testimony.  Our testimony is all that Yahushua has done, His death, His resurrection, His forgiveness, His love for us, and in and through us.  The old spirit of fear and doubt is a lie sent to try make us deny the One who gave us victory.  The next time that nagging spirit tries to attack...rebuke the enemy, and let it know, it is written and we only  believe in the One who redeemed us from all his attacks!   Praise YHWH!  What a joy to go about our tasks, readying ourselves to meet YHWH on His Shabbat, ready to give Him our gratitude, for giving us power over the spirit of fear, and enabling us to walk in victory with a sound mind filled with love!   Of course *smiles* we don't have to wait till Sabbath starts to rejoice and give YHWH all the power and glory and honor and majesty due His Name!
