OSU Student Sustainability Initiative

Position Description:

The Summer Projects Coordinators will be responsible for implementing projects and recruiting and coordinating volunteers during the summer of 2009. They will be employees of the SSI, receiving direction and supervision from the SSI Coordinator and working with other SSI staff in the Student Sustainability Center (SSC).

 

Note: Two applicants will be hired at 20-30 hours/week each.

Qualifications:

The Summer Projects Coordinators will have strong organizational skills, experience coordinating volunteers, great people skills, an awareness of various campus and community groups, an understanding of and passion for sustainability and the SSI’s mission, strong verbal and written communication skills, initiative, leadership skills, creativity, and the ability to work as part of a team.

 

Employment Dates & Wages:

The employees will work during the summer of 2009.  Start date: week of June 15, 2009. End date: September 2008.  The employees will start at $8.40 per hour.

Applicants must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher and must not be on academic probation.  The employee is expected to affirm and uphold University policies that help create and maintain a welcoming and equal opportunity campus. Additional Information:*

In the cover letter, please describe some potential projects that you would be willing to work on to benefit the SSI.  Perhaps this would be an improvement to the garden, a rain catchment project, basement improvement, window improvement, etc.  Having a handyman can do attitude would be beneficial but not necessary.
