Department of State Grant Presentation

Municipal Budget Workshop - Fundamentals of Municipal Accounting

August 25 7:00 - 9:00pm at Kunsela Hall SUNYIT.  The Local Government Education Committee will be hosting Laird Petrie from the NYS Comptroller's Office.  The fee will be $15.  The workshop flyers will be mailed to local officials in late July.

Renewable Energy Feasibility Grants REAP Program - DEADLINE July 31, 2009

The Rural Energy for America Program is designed to help agricultural producers and rural small businesses reduce energy costs and consumption and help meet the nation’s critical energy needs. The grants are awarded on a competitive basis to agricultural producers, rural small businesses, farmers and ranchers; who gain 50 percent or more of their gross income from the agricultural operations and small businesses that are located in a rural area. Clean Energy Business Growth / Development Funding – DEADLINES Aug 5, 2009 / Jan 6, 2010 / June 2, 2010 / Nov 3, 2010

NYSERDA seeks to support the growth and development of clean energy companies in New York State by supporting business activities that enable their expansion. Clean energy includes energy and power generation from renewable resources, as well as energy efficient technologies in the power generation, energy storage, transportation, industrial, or building sectors that use alternative fuels or reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and provide environmental benefits. Art Creating Community Grants – REQUIRED WORKSHOPS in August / DEADLINE October 8, 2009

The Stanley Center for the Arts announced that it will be awarding funds through the Art Creating Community Grant Program in Herkimer, Madison and Oneida counties.  All applicants MUST attend one of the ACC Seminar and/or Meet with SCA staff to discuss their project.  The 1.5 hour seminars will be held:

Targeted Multi-Family Weatherization Program Funding - DEADLINE September 3, 2009

The Division of Housing and Community Renewal has been allocated funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 for the Weatherization Assistance Program to fund eligible applicants to serve as temporary subgrantees for the purpose of targeting multi-family portfolios that have significant need for energy assistance. Upstate Revitalization Fund – DEADLINES September 15, 2009 / December 15, 2009 / March 15, 2010 

This fund will invest in projects that advance local development and small businesses.  Potential projects include improvements to industrial parks or loans for businesses to purchase equipment, real estate, as well as other needs.  Eligible applicants include municipalities, businesses, academic institutions, and non-profits. Small Business Administration - Funding through September 30, 2010
SBA is introducing a guaranty loan pilot initiative to make available lines of credit that provide support to the Nation's retail community that traditionally requires titleable inventory. SBA is creating this pilot initiative to help address the significant decline in this type of financing in recent years. SBA will guarantee up to 75 percent of a floor plan line of credit to eligible dealers including but not limited to automobiles, motorcycles, boats (including boat trailers), recreational vehicles and manufactured housing (mobile homes).  Visit http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2009/E9-15856.htm

 

Emergency Capital Repair Grants – Funding through October 1, 2009

Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announces the availability of grant funds to make emergency capital repairs to eligible multi-family projects owned by private not-for-profit entities that are designated for occupancy by elderly tenants. The capital repair needs must relate to items that present an immediate threat to the health, safety, and quality of life of the tenants. The intent of these grants is to provide one-time assistance for emergency items and where the tenants’ continued occupancy in the immediate future would be jeopardized by a delay in initiating the proposed cure.  For more information contact DeWayne Kimbrough by phone: (202) 708–3000

 

NYSERDA Solar Energy PV Incentive Program - Funding through December 31, 2009 or until funds are fully committed

Announces eligibility for qualified photovoltaic (PV) installers to participate in a financial incentive program for approved PV systems installed for New York State customers who pay the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS)/Systems Benefits Charge (SBC) as part of their electricity bill. Installers can apply for eligibility at any time while the program is open and then apply for financial incentives for approved PV end-use systems meeting the requirements of this Program. NYSERDA Energy Conservation Study Grants - Funding through March 15, 2010 or until funds are fully committed

The energy conservation studies funded by this program can study the following: energy efficiency; solar thermal, biomass, fuel cells, small wind; energy management personnel and vehicles. Small municipalities may also apply for studies of the following: material conservation and transportation. Eligible to municipal governments, public K-12 schools, public universities or colleges, hospitals, or 501(c)(3) not-for-profits to conduct energy conservation studies to support application for the above listed funding opportunities.
