CURATORIAL STATEMENT ON COLLECTIONS
|
The many objects in our anthropology collections are like emeralds, six-sided crystals of gemstone quality:They are evidence plainly showing what it can mean to be human.
They serve as authentic historical benchmarks.
They can be information lodestones.
They are material witness to our diversity.
For some, they are sacred resources of history, tradition, and being.
For all of us, they can serve as tangible ways of connecting with one another.
