House Undercover FAQ:

Q: What in the world is this game?
A: House Undercover is a RPG on livejournal that takes place in an Alternate Universe of the 1950s. In this universe, Greg House, James Wilson, Lisa Cuddy and everyone else are spies for various agencies working together in France after the second World War. They are investigating the KGB and the Russian threat.

Q: How do you play this game?
A: The game is played in LJ posts in character. We play in the third person and expect posts to be done as such. All members required to post in at least one thread, at least twice a week. Occasionally, some players chose to play in IMs through a messenger service. Those logs will count as postings. All posts must be tagged. There are a list of tags for each player and pairing and there is a tag for backstory. Tagging makes thing much easier. Also, all posts (No matter how short or long) must have an LJ cut and be set up in the following format above the LJ cut:
Timeline:
Location:
Characters:
Rating:
Summary:
Status:

Working in this format makes it much easier to deal with. Also, there is a Wiki that will help with information. The wiki should be updated with your character information.

Q:Who can I play?
A: We, of course, encourage you to play a canon, whether it be one of the main canons, a patient of the week or an unsuccessful fellowship applicant. Already, the game has several of these, including Eve, the rape victim from ‘One Day, One Room’ and Jack Wilson, James’ long missing brother. You’d be surprised by what wonderful characters you can find in the House universe.

House Undercover also accepts original characters, but only one of these per person. Of course, if the face claim, play by or whatever other name you call the actors who play your character, is taken in the House world, you may not use them for another character. But, as you’ll see from your application, using an original character means that there is more needed in the application.

Q: Who's open canon-wise at the moment?
A: Currently needed characters are: James Wilson, Lisa Cuddy, Allison Cameron, Robert Chase, Eric Foreman, Christopher Taub, Michael Tritter and loads of other smaller characters.

Q: Who's taken canon-wise at the moment?
A: Currently taken canon characters are:Amber Volakis , Stacy Warner, Cate Milton, Lawerence Kutner, 13 (Remy Hadley), Eve Celan, Jack Wilson.

Q: So, can I play a good guy? A bad guy? A double agent?
A: Yes, yes and yes. You can play canon or original on any side with a few exceptions. House needs to be working for the Taskforce, and Tritter needs to be working for the KGB. Anything else we can talk about. The mods are very open to ideas as long as there is a basis for them. Double or triple agents are always welcomed.

Q: Application process?
A: Applications can be found here. We'll review it and get back to you within three days. Auditions as needed will be scheduling following that at both the convenience of you and the mods.

Q: What the hell is a Призрак?
A: Призрак is a code word for Stacy Warner and her organization. Призрак means ghost in Russian, and currently no one outside the trusted people in her organization know that Stacy Warner is in charge of the group. At this time, Stacy Warner is considered dead following a "boating accident." The Призрак organization currently works between the USA and Russian and deals with both organizations. It is also wanted by both organizations. In a world of Black and White and us versus them Призрак believes in greyness and in the middle. Further, the organization has ties to several criminal organizations and contacts in nearly every intelligence agency in the world.

Q: What is this Taskforce you're talking about? The KGB?
A: The Taskforce is the group in France that is made up of both CIA (The Central Intelligence Agency) and NSA (National Secruity Agency) agents. All of the agents have been selected to be there for a reason. Your job is too come up with that reason. Also, it's no fun to have folks only playing on one side, so we need folks to be "the bad guys". And the bad guys in these days were the Russians. The KGB is the Russian verison of the CIA. More information on spies and such can be found here, here and here. But no worries, we're not going to jump down your throat for being inaccurate.

Q: Hey! Some of this stuff wasn't around then! They had no cellphones, playstations or insert thing here! back then!
A: Yep, you're right. But because a part of House is so inherently modern, we need to have these things. And heck, it's the alternate 1950s, so we can have whatever we want within reason.

Q: You guys have been open a long time. Why are you recruiting now? What's with the low comment and posting count? Are you guys really active?
A: You're right. We first opened on April 6, 2008 after migrating from another game. Our activity went low for a while, and now we are on hiatus looking for a new dedicated cast and reopening on September 21, 2008. The core group of players have always been active, and we need more of us! Come and join us! We are currently accepting applications!

Q: So, what do I do if I need to talk to one of you guys?
A: You can email the mods at: houseundercover@gmail.com or you can find us on AIM at Hand in a Flame or frick0of0nature. Also, leaving a message on the LJ works as well.

Q: Who are the mods for this thing anyway?
A: Your lovely mods are Kim and Mouse. Kim plays Stacy Warner and Amber Volakis and Mouse plays Cate Milton and Eve Celan. We've been playing for ages, and generally are awesome. If you need anything, don't be afraid to contact us!

Q: So what does this place look like anyway?
A: Well, inside the Taskforce headquarters looks like here, here and here.

Q: What can I do in this game? What should my specialty be?
A: We're glad you asked that. Here are some ideas to help you out!
