D.Ramirez's muscular, electronic take on house music is back with a vengeance with new single “Satur8” proving that the next D.Ramirez release is always worth the wait.

With an autumn schedule that sees remixes of Skunk Anansi, a collaboration with Underworld and an enviable gig-list it's with his own Slave Recordings that the true gold can be found.

“Satur8” is big room, riffy and of course dripping with the sort of production trickery that defines the D.Ramirez sound, but is simple in its approach and massively effective for it. The stripped back drum track provides groove while it's the massive, old school key progression riff and ethereal vocal washes that provide the frankly massive hooks which have been igniting floors throughout the summer.

Jamie Stevens of Infusion, a favourite of Ramirez, has been drafted in on the remix and typically for the studio workaholic, has delivered three outstanding re-rubs. Fresh from tackling remix duties of Bookashade on Get Physical, he's in superb form and mixes are hard to choose between in terms of quality. The tech dub is electronic-dub inflected house which literally fills the room with heavy, bass driven sound before a massively detuned synth warbles one of the most disctinctive lead lines you're likely to hear.

The “Super8” remix continues the vibe, but stretches things into an altogether more unhurried, late night direction. The dubby skank here is complimented with a striking bass drop which breaks the track up brilliantly for those who like to throw the ‘floor a bit of a curve.

Stevens' “Super Dub” combines the best of both mixes, and is the sort of cut that begs to be played peak time but retains depth and warmth. Faced with choosing which of Stevens' mixes has been skipping between all three to create some rather epic live edits, which should provide other jocks with a lead on what to do with such an excellent package.

This is vintage D.Ramirez, and the beginning of a few months of D.Ramirez gold….

2009.10.21 OUT 19BOX RECORDINGS / 19BOXCD002

We have received many positive reactions for existing album tracks.  Currently we are seeking a full album release in your country. Extra remixes can and will be commissioned if required for bonus tracks and singles.

DJ 19 is one of the most well known and respected DJs and producers in Asia. He is the force behind Japanese electronic music labels 19box Recordings, 19box Limited and  Park Limited Muzik. The labels have been in operation since 1999 and seen a slew of licenses to DJ mix CDs, DVDs, TV and more.

DJ 19 has been hard at work in the studio since he made his debut track in 1998. Since that time, he has delivered over 20 official mix CD compilations in the territories of Japan, Russia, Taiwan and Indonesia. While his name has remained prevalent and well-known on the DJ mix compilation market, he has yet to release an album using his DJ 19 moniker.

The reason for this decision on not releasing an album using his most prominent alias is simple. Up until this point he has been working under projects using the aliases of TRANCENTRAL STATION (whose biggest hit was “Mothership” – which in turn appeared on JIMMY VAN M’s “Bedrock” CD), AMBROZIA (downtempo/chillout moniker that produced “It’s U” as licensed to the “Real Ibiza” compilation ), VALID EVIDENCE (more piano-based electronic music featuring heavy Balearic grooves) have all kept him busy.  In fact, these have kept him so busy that DJ 19 has already released 5 full-length albums using a combination in-thereof those monikers.

That all said and done, DJ 19 is finally ready to unleash his debut artist album unto the world! The album is aptly-named “Phuturefunk” – a style that 19 has been using to describe in the way he DJs, produces and lives life. As a result of this, “Phuturefunk” has appeared in many aspects of his music. For example, he has released a track on Panther (a sister label of Hook/Bellboy Recordings) and a mix CD in Taiwan that both used the title of “Phuturefunk”.

“Phuturefunk” includes 15 brilliant tunes. The tracks “Nether Cutter”, “3 A.M. Delightful”, “Diamond Dust” and “Ima” have all been released on his own label 19box Recordings as single releases.  His tunes “Mash Up” and “My Brain” have both been released as singles on 19box Limited and Reticent Recordings respectively. The true heart of the album is the cool, funky and groovy co-productions with some of the world’s best underground electronic musicians. Collaborations in between DJ 19 with the UK’s MOUSSA CLARKE(PF PROJECT/MUSIQUE/PHILTER), Sweden’s BJORN FOGELBERG and a new USA-based act BLUE SATELLITE have truly made this a forward-thinking and global collection of music.

It doesn’t stop there though. US’s THOMAS PENTON, AUSTIN
LEEDS, MARKUS SHULTZ all worked hard trading tracks back and forth with DJ 19 over the Pacific Ocean through the Internet until they were complete. Further collaborations come from Holland’s C-JAY and UK-based singer and songstress, MICHELL CHIVERS. “Phuturefunk” also has cover version. That is 19’s take on PAUL HARDCASTLE’s “Rainforest” – which is the artist from whom DJ 19 draws his name (after HARDCASTLE’s Vietnam-broadcast sampling hit “19”).

The future is coming. The funk is already here. Now it’s
time to combine the two and release “Phuturefunk

Barcelona Summer Week 2009

Week long fiesta brings together the biggest DJ’s on the planet

7 days, 30 clubs, 7 beaches, 250 events, over 100 DJ’s and 50,000 people

The biggest names in dance music will descend on Barcelona from the 3rd to 9th August 2009 for the inaugural Barcelona Summer Week Festival.

Superstar DJs such as Tiësto, David Guetta, Layo & Bushwacka!, Erick Morillo, Armin Van Buuren, Sander Kleinenberg and Fedde Le Grand, will be amongst the many DJs to play host at parties across the capital during the week-long fiesta.

Barcelona – capital of culture and style, home to Discotheque, Eibisi, Opium Mar, Sotavento, Atlantic Club, El Chiringuito Marbella and just a short ferry stop to Ibiza – is already one of the leading dance music destinations in Europe. Barcelona Summer Week looks set to cement the city as the epicentre as it plays host to a stream of elaborately planned parties at open-air venues, the coolest clubs and venues across the capital with pool, beach and boat parties to rival those of the Miami music conference.

The week-long festival will culminate in a two day extravaganza at the Montjuic area against the backdrop of the historic and vibrant city. This is close to the port and the airport and very easy to get to on the Metro Lines and Buses.

The festival already looks set to draw more than 50,000 music lovers from across the Iberian Peninsula, Europe and beyond.

PURE PACHA IBIZA WELCOMES SANDER KLEINENBERG AS OFFICIAL RESIDENT OF 2009

The iconic Pure Pacha Ibiza enters its 7th year and does so in formidable fashion by appointing the legendary Sander Kleinenberg as its new resident. Sander will be taking over from long term tenant Pete Tong to invigorate Friday nights at the infamous Ibizan club, kicking off on May 29th for its 18 week summer stint.

Sander has been a regular fixture at the Balearic landmark for many years and was joint resident with Axwell last year.  After years of playing Pure Pacha, hosting such an artistic show himself and generally smashing it in the club last year, it seems only right that Sander takes the reign and becomes involved with the music programming and creative art direction of Pure Pacha. He will very much be involved in the look, feel and projection of Pure Pacha; casting upon his wealth of experience years, encompassing a full 360 appeal. Sander was a natural choice to the people who know the club best - here is what Danny Whittle, head honcho of Pacha, had to say:

"Having worked with Sander for many years it's fantastic that Sander will be fronting Pure Pacha this summer. He has consistently rocked Pacha everytime he plays so it's great to have that confidence in the quality of music for every Friday night this summer."

With Sander's amazing Pioneer SVM-1000 audio-visual mixer, which Sander helped develop, he can put on a show like no other! Sander has been leading the way, integrating video imagery and other visuals in his VDJ sets for some time now. It is safe to say that his dramatic lighting effects will work magically with the glamour and thrill of Pacha, perfectly uniting the music, visual and clubbers from around the globe. The DJ Booth has been outfitted with Sander's SVM, DVJ's and plasmas. The club has had a bit of a refurb ready for 2009!

Joining Sander this year will be the illustrious Calvin Harris, who is tipped to be the new monthly resident. Calvin has had a slew of hit singles including his smash 'Acceptable in the 80s', the number 1 hit with Dizzee Rascal 'Dance wiv me' and his current Number 1 single 'I'm not Alone' which is an instant anthem. Faithless & Trentemoller make a very welcome comeback, and Darren Emerson plays his first Pure Pacha date.

If all of this isn't enough, you can read all the news and reviews in Sanders forthcoming column for Pacha magazine, watch his amazing sets on Pacha TV, hear his stomping mixes on Pacha radio, download monthly podcasts and catch him headlining Pure Pacha events in select a cities around the world. With so much going on it's no surprise that Sander is bursting with excitement.  He says:

"Being part of the Friday night Pacha family is a dream come true and a great way to delve into my experience as a DJ. It has come at the best possible time from a creative point of view and has sparked a great and inspiring process."

This is... simply going to be, Sander Kleinenberg's year!

Pure Pacha Ibiza entered its 7th year in formidable fashion last week with their renowned opening party, which featured Sander Kleinenberg at the helm as new Pure Pacha resident and his special guests, Basement Jaxx

Sander has been a regular fixture at the Balearic landmark for many years and was joint resident with Axwell last year.  After years of playing Pure Pacha, hosting such an artistic show himself and generally smashing it in the club last year, it seemed only right that Sander take the reign and become involved with the music programming and creative art direction of Pure Pacha. Sander is very much involved in the look, feel and projection of Pure Pacha; casting upon his wealth of experience years, encompassing a full 360 appeal. Sander was a natural choice to the people who know the club best - here is what Danny Whittle, head honcho of Pacha Ibiza, had to say:

“Having worked with Sander for many years its fantastic that Sander will be fronting Pure Pacha this summer. He has consistently rocked Pacha every time he plays so it’s great to have that confidence in the quality of music for every Friday night this summer.

With Sander and Basement Jaxx setting the precedent for the upcoming summer, this years guests include Calvin Harris, who is the exclusive monthly resident, Justice, Cassius, Sharam, Faithless, Paul Oakenfold, Trentemoller, Mark Knight and Darren Emerson. Renaissance and Toolroom Knights will each take the reign twice during the summer, while Pacha Brazil, Sharm El Sheikh and Zouk make a special appearance at the club too.

DJs Trevor Nelson and Maxi Jazz make a triumphant comeback in the Global Room and joining them on rotation will be Andy Baxter, Mo Funk and Mucho Muchacho, who are serving the Pacha glitterati with a soundtrack of smooth grooves, soul, funk and upfront R & B.

Built on a reputation for bringing together musical quality, great parties and like minded people, Pure Pacha provides you with the most upfront music, spectacular live pearformances, opulent surroundings and the most beautiful people in town. With so many areas to play in… whether it’s on the dancefloor, chilling on the terrace, grooving in the global room or celeb spotting in the VIP, Pacha caters for all palettes. You really will not get a true Ibizan experience anywhere else.

Friday Nights in Ibiza are Pure Pacha…
