Barcelona Summer Week 2009
Week long fiesta brings together the biggest DJ’s on the planet
7 days, 30 clubs, 7 beaches, 250 events, over 100 DJ’s and 50,000 people
The biggest names in dance music will descend on Barcelona from the 3rd to 9th August 2009 for the inaugural Barcelona Summer Week Festival.
Superstar DJs such as Tiësto, David Guetta, Layo & Bushwacka!, Erick Morillo, Armin Van Buuren, Sander Kleinenberg and Fedde Le Grand, will be amongst the many DJs to play host at parties across the capital during the week-long fiesta.
Barcelona – capital of culture and style, home to Discotheque, Eibisi, Opium Mar, Sotavento, Atlantic Club, El Chiringuito Marbella and just a short ferry stop to Ibiza – is already one of the leading dance music destinations in Europe. Barcelona Summer Week looks set to cement the city as the epicentre as it plays host to a stream of elaborately planned parties at open-air venues, the coolest clubs and venues across the capital with pool, beach and boat parties to rival those of the Miami music conference.
The week-long festival will culminate in a two day extravaganza at the Montjuic area against the backdrop of the historic and vibrant city. This is close to the port and the airport and very easy to get to on the Metro Lines and Buses.
The festival already looks set to draw more than 50,000 music lovers from across the Iberian Peninsula, Europe and beyond.

PURE PACHA IBIZA WELCOMES SANDER KLEINENBERG AS OFFICIAL RESIDENT OF 2009
|
|
|

Pure Pacha Ibiza entered its 7th year in formidable fashion last week with their renowned opening party, which featured Sander Kleinenberg at the helm as new Pure Pacha resident and his special guests, Basement Jaxx.
Sander
has been a regular fixture at the Balearic landmark for many years and
was joint resident with Axwell last year. After years of playing Pure
Pacha, hosting such an artistic show himself and generally smashing it
in the club last year, it seemed only right that Sander take the reign
and become involved with the music programming and creative art
direction of Pure Pacha. Sander is very much involved in the look, feel
and projection of Pure Pacha; casting upon his wealth of experience
years, encompassing a full 360 appeal. Sander was a natural choice to
the people who know the club best - here is what Danny Whittle, head
honcho of Pacha Ibiza, had to say:
“Having worked with Sander
for many years its fantastic that Sander will be fronting Pure Pacha
this summer. He has consistently rocked Pacha every time he plays so
it’s great to have that confidence in the quality of music for every
Friday night this summer.
With Sander and Basement Jaxx setting the precedent for the upcoming summer, this years guests include Calvin Harris, who is the exclusive monthly resident, Justice, Cassius, Sharam, Faithless, Paul Oakenfold, Trentemoller, Mark Knight and Darren Emerson. Renaissance and Toolroom Knights will each take the reign twice during the summer, while Pacha Brazil, Sharm El Sheikh and Zouk make a special appearance at the club too.
DJs Trevor Nelson and Maxi Jazz make a triumphant comeback in the Global Room and joining them on rotation will be Andy Baxter, Mo Funk and Mucho Muchacho, who are serving the Pacha glitterati with a soundtrack of smooth grooves, soul, funk and upfront R & B.
Built on a reputation for bringing together musical quality, great parties and like minded people, Pure Pacha provides you with the most upfront music, spectacular live pearformances, opulent surroundings and the most beautiful people in town. With so many areas to play in… whether it’s on the dancefloor, chilling on the terrace, grooving in the global room or celeb spotting in the VIP, Pacha caters for all palettes. You really will not get a true Ibizan experience anywhere else.
Friday Nights in Ibiza are Pure Pacha…
