Hailie’s Song

(Music & Lyrics by Glenn “Grandpa” Dixon)

Chorus

Roses are Red

And pretty when worn,

Our sweet little Hailie

Was recently born

She was in a big hurry

She just couldn’t wait,

For the Doctor’s estimated

Delivery date

Verse 1

She came into this world

On a bright Monday morn,

There were choirs of Angels

With Gabriel’s horn

All the angels rejoiced

Cause they knew she was made,

By God’s loving hands

and a small lump of clay

(Chorus)

Verse 2

So God folded and He molded

And shaped her with care,

He even gave her

Some pretty brown hair

And then he breathed into her

His spirit of life,

And sent her down to Earth

To shine her sweet little light

(Chorus)

Verse 3

She had a rough start

Cause her lungs weren’t quite done,

But that didn’t stop her

Cause she wanted some fun

So she struggled and she struggled

And she finally got strong,

Then the doctors and the nurses

Said that she could go home

(Chorus)

Verse 4

So now she’s eating and sleeping

And gaining some weight,

It won’t be long before

She’s starting to date

She’s such a precious baby

I know you’ll agree,

That life won’t be the same

Since she’s come to be

(Chorus)
