A Word from the Pastor
Dear Friends in Faith,
Welcome to our service this morning. Just as Jesus knew the woman at the well, God knows you and welcomes you here today. As you listen to the woman’s story, know that you, too, are known and loved and accepted – just as you are. Please accept this invitation to join us for refreshments after the service.
Blessings and Peace, Pastor Deborah
ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!
Starting in two weeks, March 9th, all announcements must be written out ahead of the service and given to the Liturgist, who will read them on your behalf. When your announcement is read please stand. Please be concise.
AUDIO Tapes
Audio tapes of the services are available and can be found next to the office foyer bulletin board.
Social Hour
Social Hour Host sign-up list is posted on the hallway bulletin board. Please consider doing partnership to host a social hour after worship. It's a great time to gather and share fellowship with each other.
Lenten Bible Study
There is a Lenten Bible Study here at LUCC, in the Thatcher Room, on the Letters of Paul each Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 pm. Everyone is invited to attend these studies following the Lenten Luncheons.
Taizé Service
A spirit-opening Lenten service in the manner of Taizé will be held for the Greater Rochester Community at 7:00 pm today, February 24th, at Community Christian Church, 2647 Chili Ave. (just southwest of the Rt.204 extension off I-490). This reflective service of gentle music and candlelight will bring us into communion with Christ in the desert, and help us turn our whole being toward God. The service is jointly
sponsored by Community Christian Church and the Worship and Discipleship Team of the Greater Rochester Community of Churches.
Lay Ministry Team
Our next meeting will be March 9th. Several people have discerned that their God-given gifts include ministry leadership in the church. If you also have discerned that you have this gift and would like to use it, please see Pastor Deborah soon.

LEAF is this month's mission. The Livingston Emergency Assistance Fund is a program of Livingston County Catholic Charities. This program assists many in our area with financial help for heat, medications, and preventing eviction. If Catholic Charities can raise $30,000, they will be able to obtain an additional $15,000 grant to help with the LEAF program. Through January nearly $22,000 has been given toward the goal. Thank you for your gifts this month; you have given $135 to date. There are envelopes in the pews or use one and write "LEAF" on it if you would like to help with this local work.
Mission of the Month of March – One Great Hour of Sharing
God's call to share what we have encompasses people everywhere. The people fleeing violence in Sudan, suffering from AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa, reeling from devastation in Indonesia, starving in poverty in India, and recovering from any number of disasters around the United States - we are called to make a difference in their lives. We can do this through our special offering, One Great Hour of Sharing.
As each of us gives to One Great Hour of Sharing, we help families and villages around the world to build lives and communities that are healthy, safe, and sustainable. Sharing our resources really changes lives!
Nine Christian church bodies work alongside Church World Service, transforming lives in this country and around the world.
Teresa House
Teresa House is currently looking for more volunteers. Teresa House is a comfort care home that cares for the terminally ill from our community. They are now offering orientation classes for new recruits. For more information on this great cause, call 243-1978.
The "Crossbearers" Quartet
The "Crossbearers", a southern gospel singing quartet, will present a concert of music at the Geneseo United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 9th at 4:00 pm. The public is invited to attend this Lenten program. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. A freewill offering will be received. See flyer on bulletin board.
Prayer List
If you would like to have someone on our Prayer List please fill out a pew card (include your name) and put the card in the collection plate.
Let us pray for our families, World Leaders, those serving in the military, those who have served our country and have been wounded, those suffering from cancer, those recovering from operations, those recovering from trauma or accidents, those who suffer from alienation or ill-will, those who don’t have enough to eat, those who need work; Sharon, Tyler, Lois, Danielle, Jim’s family, Mark’s family, Vicky King, Charmagne Flanagan and her companions as they climb Mt Kilimanjaro.
