A Word from the Pastor

Dear Friends in Faith,

Welcome to our worship service this morning. We're glad that you're here. It is Communion Sunday, the day we set aside to remember the precious gift given to us by Jesus. This sacred table is set for all people who wish to participate in the sharing of bread and juice.  May this communion meal bring the Christ light within us to burn brighter.
Blessings, Pastor Deborah

Lenten Lunches

Every year during Lent South Livonia UCC, St Matthew Roman Catholic Church, United Church of Livonia, Livonia Presbyterian Church, Conesus United Church and Lakeville UCC participate in a Lenten Lunches Series on Wednesday at noon at the Livonia Presbyterian Church. Each church takes turns to serve lunch and to present a short program. Everyone is welcome to come. Our “turn” will be February 13th. We will need soups, sandwiches, cookies, and people to serve. Please let a Deacon know if you would like to help or use the sign up sheet posted on the bulletin board.

PLEASE NOTE: Don Lewis is temporarily residing, for therapy, at the Highlands @ Brighton, 5901 Lac de Ville Blvd., Rochester, NY 14618. This is located at the corner of S. Clinton and Westfall. Cards and visits would be most welcome.

Social Hour
The Winter Social Hour Host signup is posted on the bulletin board.  Please help keep the tradition on track by volunteering to host Social Hour.

Prayer Journal Update From UCC

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ

On behalf of the whole United Church of Christ I want to thank you for the prayer journal you have sent for distribution to the United States service men and women. I have read through many of the prayers and reflections and know they will be a powerful word of comfort and hope to those who are in distant and dangerous places.

This morning the prayer journals we have received were placed on the communion table in our Amistad Chapel during staff worship. The will remain there for a week to give staff and visitors an opportunity to see them. The journals will be sent to the UCC chaplains in Iraq and Afghanistan for

distribution to their soldiers.

Know that we are deeply grateful for you participation in this powerful movement.

Sincerely, John H. Thomas

General Minister and President
