A Word from the Pastor

Dear Friends in Faith,

Welcome to our worship service this morning. The key word today is “womb”: God knew you while you were yet in the womb. Scripture says that God ‘knitted you together’. It is logical then to believe that just as God created you, God also created a purpose for your life. That purpose also drives your Call. Have you realized it?

Blessings and Peace, Pastor Deborah

BBT (Breaking Bread Together)

MONDAY NIGHT DINNER (BBT) is offered at St Timothy’s each and every Monday evening starting at 5:00 pm for anyone who wishes to come. There is a contemporary worship service at 6:00 pm. What a wonderful ministry!

Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the congregation of the Lakeville United Church of Christ will be held Sunday, January 27th, 2008, immediately following the morning worship service. At that time we will elect officers, receive annual reports, and vote on the 2008 budget. Congregational concerns and church business may be brought up at this meeting.

ANNUAL REPORTS

Annual Reports are ready. Make sure you pick one up from the front office. There is a lot of information in it. Read it over, note any discrepancies, and make sure you bring your copy back next week for the Annual Meeting.

Blankets of Love/Tools of Hope
This month's mission is Blankets of Love/Tools of Hope.  This program assists people throughout the world, including the United States.  It helps with the education of people in third world countries to become more independent in feeding themselves.  The program also helps with the rebuilding of homes and lives devastated by natural disasters.  For every $5 given, LUCC can help with the purchase of blankets (for warmth and shelter) and tools to help rebuild homes or begin raising crops to feed families and villages.  Thank you for donations received to date of $127 or 25 blankets. If you would like to support this mission, please use a pew envelope and write "Blankets" or "Tools" on it.

Social Hour
The winter Social Hour Host signup is posted on the bulletin board.  Please help keep the tradition on track by volunteering to host Social Hour.

Thank you

Thank you for filling the grocery cart again last Sunday!  Your donations will be welcomed on the Livonia Food Pantry shelves!

New 2008 Giving Envelopes

New 2008 Giving Envelopes are available in the Central Office.  If you would like to use the envelope giving system, please contact Marcia Parsons or Cindy Davis. There is no charge for the envelopes.

News from Livingston Country Coalition of Churches

Did you know that several months ago a dairy farm was raided in the middle of the night and the workers were taken to a detention center in Batavia? These workers provided their employers with documentation. Some of them have been working and living in this country more than a decade. The farmers abide by all labor laws, i.e. these workers are earning more than minimum wage. Yet, because they are Hispanic, they are being harassed and detained. They live in constant fear.

2008 God’s Creation Calendars are here!

Please accept this gift from the Deacons. You can pick them up outside the office. (1 per family)

Prayer List

If you would like to have someone on our Prayer List please fill out a pew card (include your name) and put the card in the collection plate.

Let us pray for our families, World Leaders, those serving in the military, those who have served our country and have been wounded, those suffering from cancer, those recovering from operations, those recovering from trauma or accidents, those who suffer from alienation or ill-will, those who don’t have enough to eat, those who need work; Sharon, Tyler, Lois, Danielle, Jim’s family, Mark’s family.
