Supporting Documents The Queen's Org Chart The Reorganized Ministry of Magic Frequently Asked Questions What is this? This page is a portal to the "official" version of the fanfic "Muggle Summer, Wizard's Fall" (or just "Muggle Summer" on portkey.org), by canoncansodoff. What's different? Besides fixing typos and continuity issues spotted along the way, I’ve combined many of the earlier, shorter chapters and eliminated a few of the minor plot lines that didn’t end up going anywhere (e.g. the video game development idea). Lost 30,000 words in the process, but on the whole this is the same story. How is the revised story organized? The first 62 chapters of the story (as posted on portkey and ffn) were reorganized into 38 new chapters. I grouped these new chapters into 5 "books" that were 50-60,000 words long, but since I'm using google docs, I needed to break each book into two parts to get under file size limits. So, five books x 2 parts each = 10 clickable links. Beginning with Chapter 39 and "Book 6," each new chapter will have its own link. Most of the editing/reorganization took place in the earlier chapters...by the time you get to "Book 5," the individual chapters mirror what's been already posted on line. For example, Chapter 38 ("Garden Party") in this rewrite is the same as Chapter 62 ("Garden Party") on ffn and portkey.org. There will be similar mirroring as the story moves forward...the new "Ch. 63" on-line will become Chapter 39 in this version of the story. Why did I bother? In the six months time between posting original chapters 62 and 63, I reread the story three times, making edits and changes on the fly to the hard-drive version of the story. Most of the changes took place in the first 150,000 words...I think that I've become a much better writer over the three years that this story has been serialized. (some of the readers have too...one even suggested that I've hired a ghost writer for the last third of the story). By posting these changes/edits, I hope to offer a better, more enjoyable read. On the technical side, I trust Google's server's more than I trust ffn or portkey's (or my hard drive, for that matter). This also allows me to insert hot links into the story (can't with ffn), and provide a "one-stop shop" for supporting docs (e.g. The Queen's Org Chart). That the documents automatically re-publish whenever I edit the originals is also a big sell for me. Can I get the revised story in a different format?
