On November 4, 2008, voters in the U.S. will elect a new president, as well as 470 members of Congress. Whichever candidates are elected, they will face an array of pressing issues at home and abroad, all demanding attention and action. Where do we start? Voters can express their priorities in the voting booth—but young people also deserve to be heard. It’s your future too. What do you believe is the most urgent issue for the new President to tackle? What would you say to the candidates for the 470 seats open in Congress? What would you want the voting public to think about as they go to the polls? Your letter will be published for the candidates and the voting public to read. Can you convince them of the importance of the issue you care about? Can you move them to action on November 4…and after?

I think the president should focuse on global warning and to remind people to turn off the things  you not using like the radio, blow dryers, ect. Dear future president,
    I'm Leslie.A from Sussex county. My concerns is that I think you should focus on recycling. People don't care much about recycling because it doesn't come to their mind what would happen if they didn't stop. If there were more commercials and signs people would start opening their eyes and pick up a soda bottle and recycle it. My family and I are big recyclers. It will be nice to see people recycle.
     Another thing you should focus on is global warning. If we don't stop using so much energy, it will be horrible to people and the animals. I think you should have commercials, that say "If your not using it then unplug it".I'm not sure if that's a good slogan, but you should have something like that. Or maybe you can have a a commercial that's funny, because everybody loves funny commercials. It could catch peoples eyes.

    People should also do car pooling. Think how much we will be saving. If kids have the same game practice, or if there going to the same place they could go together [ If their parents want them to].
