WHY DON'T YOU TRY ADDING SOMETHING TO THIS NEWSLETTER - now?

CHANGE OF WALK GRADE

Sat 21 Nov Orton and Lower Penn Circular has some short but steep ups and downs and should be grade M rather than L.

DO WE HAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS?
Unavoidable last-minute cancellations or additional walks do happen, and  illustrate just why it is important that we have as many members as possible on our email circulation list.   We have about 50 names, but we've got nearly 400 members, even if we only see about 100 of them per annum!   If you are a member of the Wolverhampton RA Group, or you are a member of another RA Group and walk with us, and you are not on our circulation list, please email us at the General Group email address given on the Contact Us page.

IMPROVE YOUR MAP READING
John
has offered to hold more of his free map reading sessions for any members wanting to improve their navigational skills, e.g. for leading walks.  The day long events will usually be held during January and February for 4 interested people at a time and will feature theory and practical map reading.  Contact John on 01902 334271 if you are interested.

REVISED ADVICE FOR SatNaV USERS

Convert between a "Landranger grid" ref e.g. SJ995162 and Longitude W 2 deg 00 min 32 sec (or -2.008845 decimal, negative because W) Latitude N 52 deg 44 min 36 sec (or 52.743425 decimal) at http://www.streetmap.co.uk/gridconvert.html .  Most SatNavs will accept co-ordinates in Longitude/Latitude, and this is much more accurate than using Post Codes outside built-up areas.
