CAC DIRECTOR - JOB DESCRIPTION
The job is to oversee the operations and calendar for the Creative Arts Center facility by fulfilling the following tasks taking 5 to 10 hours a week:
Memberships and Volunteers - Maintain and update membership and volunteer information and make easily accessible to program directors for reference.
Phone and internet - Check messages on phone at least twice a week, responding to or redirecting calls (this can be done from a remote location). Understand and update Board of Arts web information and check and respond to e-mails.
Office Organization - Organize existing paperwork and materials in the CAC office into a logical system that is easily maintained.
Meetings - Attend monthly TVIA Board of Arts meetings to understand any changes in policy, fundraising activities and programming proposals and report on any concerns in operations.
Public Relations - Present and encourage a positive and professionally courteous image of the Art Center at all times, and be willing to explain our goals and mission as well as offer information about current programming.
Funding - Seek and assist in applying for staffing and program funding.
Activities Programming - Oversee approved program and activities scheduling, keeping an updated calendar for this purpose, also checking if appropriate fees have been paid. Provide access to Users by supplying necessary keys and instruction on building operation, safety and security. See that final reports are turned in and adequate cleanup requirements have been met upon conclusion.
Building Maintenance - Understand and monitor building heating and lighting systems, doors and locks. Coordinate necessary cleaning and maintenance, keeping supplies and tools available for this purpose. In winter see that walkways are safely free of ice and snow. In summer see that landscaping is maintained. In fall see that outside water is shut off and drained. Some of these tasks can be performed by others, however if fees are to be paid, approval must first be sought from the Board of Arts.
