- Reminder to geography majors only: Abstracts/applications for consideration for partial funding to participate in the 2010 Association of American Geographers conference are due to Dr. Lowry, chair of the department, by FRI 09 OCT

- Fundraising
- Group Tag Sale – Dr. Lowry has generously offered to donate some items to kick-start a group tag or yard sale to raise money to pay for various student activities throughout the year.
- When should we have this sale?

- UNOGS Dues are $10 for the year – helps pay for food & beverages during meetings and to fund activities

- Interest in attending the Southwest Regional Association of American Geographer’s Conference (SWAAG): WED 28 OCT – SAT 31 OCT North Little Rock, AR
- Old River Project with Corps of Engineers guidance.
- How much interest/tentative commitment to going by members if enough interest so as to give Corps ample notice
- Full moon ranger guided canoe trip in Lafitte National Park/Barataria
- Interest/tentative commitment to going so as to schedule with National Park Service
- Date TBD as NPS has not yet set their schedule for the season

- Geography Awareness Week is 15-21 NOV 09

- Geography Bowl on Tuesday and/or Thursday (interest?)
- GIS Day on Wednesday – Volunteers may be needed; please see Mrs. Ibáñez for details
