Bach-Collegium Stuttgart conducted by Helmuth Rilling
Classical Music Library, an activity of Alexander Street Press, makes available to library subscribers for listening online the entire Bach Cantata cycle performed by the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart under the direction of Helmuth Rilling.
Naxos Music Library makes available in similar fashion a wide variety of Bach cantatas by different performing ensembles.
Check with your library online, or your librarian, to find out if your library is a subscriber to either the Classical Music Library or the Naxos Music Library and whether the subscription allows listening on your personal computer. You will then have to open your library record (dossier) online at some point in order to access music.
For the Classical Music Library, go to the Library's Johann Sebastian Bach page, scroll down to the cantata section and make your choice.
For the Naxos Music Library do a search for a particular cantata placing "BWV" before the cantata number, e.g., BWV 147. A listing of all available recordings of that particular cantata will appear.
To follow the German text with an English translation alongside, click here to go to the Emmanuel Music website and their translations, all conveniently arranged.
