Report Directions

Paragraph 1 (Introduction):

• Title, author, illustrator, date written

• Setting

• Main character

Paragraph 2 (Characters):

• Describe briefly the main characters in the book

• Write 3 sentences describing the main character

Paragraph 3 (Plot):

• Summarize the book in 6-8 sentences. This must include the conflict of the story, how the conflict is resolved, and how the story ends.

Paragraph 4 (Opinion):

• Write what you think about the book. Include several of the following: favorite character or characters, favorite part of plot, how you would change the story, what you would have done if you were in the story, whether you liked the illustrations or not, and what you learned from the story.

Remember:

• Capitalize and punctuate every sentence.

• Paragraphs begin with an indentation.

• Write neatly.

• Look up words that you don’t know how to spell.

• Spell character names correctly.
