Dioxins were critical in listing these and the landfills as a cleanup site


Dioxins

Rough half life of dioxins is about 10 years

One of the largest sampling projects in the USA

Local soil sampling was done from 0-3” in depth


Purpose of the investigation

Determine the nature and extent of sediment contamination


Soil sample schedule


Final sampling was completed Mar – June 08

Findings will be available very soon

Accelerate the cleanup process…


The OEC would like to see the Rayonier Mill site rehabilitated and turned into a park so that people can enjoy the area and salmon can be rehabilitated in Ennis Creek.
