Classes in Flamenco Rhythm, Dance Technique, & Choreography [11-2pm @ World Deli (Studio inside! Located in Mandarin/Jacksonville; South of Hood St. on the West side of Old St. Augustine Rd.]

This Workshop is hosted by World Deli and Daniela Mouw, Artistic Director and professional Flamenco instructor for Flamenco Sonora. Flamenco Dance classes for adults 13 and over will be taught by Danielle Mouw and accompanied at the end of class by musicians Steve Alvarado, Robert Kaye, and Brandon Benedicto. Students should bring water and comfortable dress or Flamenco shoes to wear while dancing (low heeled with back straps to support the foot). Ladies, please bring a fitted top for visible posturing and your favorite knee length skirt! Young men are encouraged to wear comfortable pants and dress shoes or boots.
Students are expected to have little to intermediate exposure to Flamenco, but those who are more advanced will certainly enjoy the class focus on sentido, broaden their repertory, and reinforce techniques in turns, footwork, etc. Aficionados and musicians are encouraged to attend as audience members to record sound and enjoy the entire workshop, for a small do fee of $10 We will have Flamenco Guitar and percussion accompaniment for the remainder of the Tientos/Tangos class* A FREE warm-up class will be held from 10:30am to 11am followed by a technique class until 12noon taught by Daniela Mouw. A short break will ensue, and then a beautiful Tientos Choreography will be offered from 12:15 to 1:15pm for intermediate dancers and those wanting a challenge. We will finish with juerga style Tangos until 2pm with musicians from Flamenco Sonora and palmas. PLEASE SUBMIT THIS COMPLETED FORM TO ME BY SATURDAY, MAY 2nd @ 7pm TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT.
