Senior Fund Overview
The Senior Fund is a way for the senior class to give back to Columbia College. Since tuition does not cover the full cost of a Columbia education, our class gift is a crucial way Columbia College maintains its financial aid program, Core Curriculum, student services, and internship stipend fund. Your gift can be unrestricted or directed to one of these specific initiatives.
Our class goal is an 86% participation rate, the highest goal in Columbia College's history. Join your classmates in making a positive impact on Columbia's future and donate to Senior Fund today!

1. Why should I donate to Senior Fund?
Tuition does not cover the full cost of a Columbia College education. Gifts help subsidize the education of all students, whether they receive financial aid or not. Gifts to the Senior Fund provide
direct support for undergraduate financial aid. Last year, Columbia
College spent more than $49 million on need-based grants for Columbia
College students and 43% of all undergraduates receive some sort of
financial aid. Senior Fund gifts also help support the Core Curriculum, Student Services, and Internship Stipends.
Giving to Senior Fund is a way of giving back to Columbia, working towards a common goal with classmates, and making an impact on Columbia College even after leaving Morningside Heights.
2. What will my gift be used for?
As stated above, gifts provide support for undergraduate financial aid. However, you can choose to direct your gift to support any of the following: Financial Aid, the Core Curriculum, Student Services, or Internship Stipends. You can also choose to dedicate your gift in recognition of a friend, parent, or faculty member who has influenced you.
3. What is the participation rate?
The participation rate is a measure of Columbia College students' satisfaction and pride in Columbia. Each donation has an impact on the Senior Fund participation rate and signifies your recognition of the benefits of the College. This year, meeting our participation goal also signifies our appreciation of Dean Quigley's many contributions to Columbia College.
Our participation goal is 86% this year, which would top the record of 85% set by the Class of 2008, and also set an Ivy League giving record.
4. How can I donate?
There are many ways to donate: with cash, checks, credit cards, and Flex. Senior Fund committee members will have gift envelopes on hand for students to make gifts at class events and Senior Fund events. Checks should be made out to the Columbia College Fund, and credit card gifts can also be made online at www.college.columbia.edu/seniorfund.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept gifts under $1 because it costs more than $1 to process a gift. All gifts to the Senior Fund are tax-deductible and all donors will receive a gift receipt.
