Mountaineer Creed

Whereas, The West Virginia University Student Government Association Board of Governors recognizes the importance of the “Mountaineer Creed” at West Virginia University; and

Whereas, the “Mountaineer Creed” promotes personal and academic integrity, values wisdom and culture, supports lifetime learning, practices responsibility and stewardship, and respects human dignity and cultural diversity; and

Whereas, the West Virginia University Student Government Association Board of Governors strongly believes that the “Mountaineer Creed” is vital in the daily learning of students on the campus at West Virginia University and sees a need for the “Mountaineer Creed” to be more strongly promoted and practiced.

Therefore, be it resolved, the West Virginia Student Government Association Board of Governors officially recognizes the “Mountaineer Creed” and will make an effort to continue to improve the recognition of the creed through the classrooms and in the daily lives of the students on this campus.
