How to Turn Off Popup Blocking for Writely

Most browsers and toolbars will allow you to turn off pop-up blocking just for a specific website. Here's how.

Browsers: Internet Explorer | FireFox | Mozilla | AOL
Toolbars: Google Toolbar | Yahoo Toolbar | MSN Toolbar | Alta Vista Toolbar | Ask Jeeves Toolbar


Internet Explorer

  1. From the menu, choose Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Pop-up Blocker Settings.
  2. Enter writely.com in the "Address of Web site to allow" box and click Add.
  3. Click Close.


FireFox

  1. From the menu, choose Tools > Options.
  2. In the Options dialog, choose Web Features.
  3. Click the Allowed Sites button to the right of the Block Popup Windows checkbox.
  4. Enter writely.com in the "Address of web site" textbox and click Allow.
  5. Click Ok, then OK again.


Mozilla

  1. From the menu, choose Edit > Preferences.
  2. In the Preferences dialog, choose Privacy & Security, then Popup Windows below it.
  3. Click the Allowed Sites button.
  4. Enter writely.com in the "Allow popups from the following web sites" textbox and click Add.
  5. Click Ok, then OK again.


AOL

  1. Go to AOL Keyword: Pop-up Preferences.
  2. Select Allow Web pop-ups from these sites.
  3. Type menu.writely.com and click Add.
  4. Click Save.


Google Toolbar

  1. Click on the Google toolbar button in the middle that says "xx blocked" (where xx is some number).
  2. The button text will change to say "Popups okay", which means you can now display popups just in Writely.


Yahoo Toolbar

  1. Click on the Pop-Up Blocker button on the toolbar, to the right of the" Search Web" button.
  2. Select "Always allow Pop-ups From...".
  3. In the list of "Sources of Recently Blocked Pop-Ups", select www.writely.com and click Allow.
  4. Click OK to the confirmation message box.
  5. Click Close.


MSN Toolbar

  1. Click on the drop-down menu next to the toolbar button in the middle that says "Popups Blocked (xx)" (where xx is some number).
  2. Select "Allow Pop-ups for this Site".
  3. The button text will change to say "Site Pop-ups allowed", which means you can now display popups just in Writely.


Alta Vista Toolbar

  1. Click on the toolbar button in the middle that says "On:xx"  (where xx is some number).
  2. It will change to say "Off", which means you can now display popups just in Writely.


Ask Jeeves Toolbar

  1. Click on the drop-down menu next to the toolbar button in the middle that says "xx Blocked" (where xx is some number).
  2. Select "Allow popups from the site".
  3. The button text will change to say "Site popups allowed", which means you can now display popups just in Writely.
