CAMPING TRIP

On Friday, July 25th, Oasis Youth Ministry will be hosting a camping trip at Lac Philippe. The following outlines the activities for the camping trip:


Friday

3:00-3:30pm Load Vehicles and leave CPC

3:30-4:45pm Travel to Lac Philippe Park

4:45pm Set up site and unpack

5:30pm Dinner

Hangout/Make Smores

11:30pm In-tent Curfew


Saturday

8:00am Breakfast

9:00am Short Group Devo

Flag-football Game

12:00pm Lunch

1:00-5:00pm Lusk Cave Hike

6:00pm Dinner

8:00pm Special Campfire

Hangout

11:30pm In-tent Curfew

Sunday

8:00am Breakfast

9:00am Short Group Devo, pack up cars

10:30am Leave Site

10:30-1:00pm Beach Time & Lunch

1:30pm Leave Camp

2:30pm Arrive back at CPC






The cost for the camping trip is $20. This includes transportation and 6 main meals. Individuals are responsible for any extra snacks or campfire treats beyond what Oasis YM provides. Transportation will be provided to the campsite. If a youth wishes to drive themselves we will need to have the consent of the individual’s parents. For safety reasons, youth are not permitted to drive other youth.


For a youth to be considered under the supervision of OASIS YM they MUST have completed a registration form and have had it signed by a parent or guardian. Individuals, who come to the event yet have failed to submit a registration form, come at their own risk. OASIS YM will not be responsible for any poor behavior or injuries they may incur.



RULES AND GUIDELINES:

  1. No physical violence towards ones self or others. No excessive rough play (ex. Pushing, shoving…)

  2. OASIS YM leaders are there to look out for your own good. Individuals are asked to respectfully listen to the leaders and follow their instructions.

  3. Individuals must remain under the supervision of OASIS YM leaders at all times.

  4. No alcohol and/or illegal substances are permitted. Smoking is not permitted either. Individuals caught with either in their possession will be sent home immediately and reported to the authorities.

  5. Individuals are asked to use proper language throughout the course of the weekend. Cursing, crude language or remarks and/or talking about inappropriate subjects are not acceptable.

  6. If for whatever reason an individual has become separated from the group they are to go immediately to the arranged meeting point, which will be determined prior to leaving.

  7. Boys are not permitted in the girl’s tents and girls are not permitted in the boy’s tents, even during the day. If you are caught in the opposite sex’s sleeping area you will be sent home.

  8. Be respectful of park property. You will be responsible for any damages you incur.

  9. Pranks must be appropriate and may not inflict any physical harm on others.

  10. HAVE FUN!!!



THINGS TO BRING:

  1. Water shoes or sandals (not flip-flops) for hiking in the caves.

  2. Clothes that can get wet or dirty, also for hiking.

  3. Flashlight, lantern, camera, deck of cards, etc.

  4. Clothes that are appropriate for the weather

  5. A tent, sleeping bag, pillow, warm night clothes

  6. Bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, bug spray, bug net



PLEASE BE PACKED AND READY TO LEAVE THE CHURCH AT 3PM ON FRIDAY SEE YOU THEN!

I / we the parent(s) or guardian(s) named above, undertake and agree to indemnify and hold blameless any of the OASIS YM adult staff, Community Pentecostal Church of Ottawa’s Pastors and Board of Deacons from and against any loss, damage, injury or death suffered by the participants as a result of being part of the activities at Community Pentecostal Church and Parc de Lac Philippe from Friday, July 25, 2008 to Sunday, July 27, 2008 as well as any medical treatment authorized by the supervising individuals representing the church.

**Individuals who fail to comply with the rules and guidelines set by OASISYM will be asked to leave and their parents will be notified and expected to come and pick them up immediately.
