Support the Shamans of Siquijor film project
We hope that with your support we can make the film series, the Shamans of Siquijor, a success.
The documentary films in the series are Shamans of Siquijor: The Healers (completed in 2004) and Shamans of Siquijor: The Sorcerers (a work-in-progress). The educational films introduce the shamanistic practices of Philippine island folk culture that continue to survive in the face of social and economic change.
Funds are currently needed to provide for editing equipment & material, editing services, translations services, and other items, which are crucial for the completion of the film series. In the great tradition of independent film productions, Shamans of Siquijor runs on generous co-sponsorships, volunteers, and grants from organizations such as Fulbright, Women in Film, and the UT Center for Asian American Studies.
Cash donations are tax-deductible through our non-profit fiscal sponsor Women and Their Work. (See donation form below.) We can provide you with an official receipt for your gift, upon request, for your tax purposes. Additionally, our sponsors and volunteers will be recognized in the movie credits. Your sponsorship will help us gain exposure at schools, and film festivals like the asian american film festivals and Sundance.
