
The
Rev. Jon M. Luopa has been the Senior Minister at University Unitarian Church in Seattle, Washington for ten years. Before moving to the Northwest he served UU congregations in the Greater Boston area, and for thirteen years in Hartford, Connecticut. He is a 1981 graduate of the Harvard Divinity School where he worked for several years as the personal secretary of James Luther Adams.
Participating in the life of theological institutions has been a constant dimension of his ministry, whether it was at the Harvard Divinity School, the Hartford Seminary Foundation, or most recently at Seattle University's School of Theology and Ministry where he teaches the UU History and UU Polity courses, as well as serves on the Ecumenical Institute Board and the Pastoral Leadership Program.
He is married to Annie Kinlaw Luopa, a bereavement therapist, and they have two daughters, Laila and Julika.
