Using the target language, students will:

talk about school schedules and subjects • discuss what students do during the day • ask and tell who is performing an action • compare his or her school with that of a student in a Spanish-speaking country

Also, students will explore: • the correct pronunciation of the letter c • connections between Latin, English, and Spanish

Assessment Descriptions Given:

Cooperative Learning Events: In Communicative Activities, students teach and learn to and from each other in the target language by interacting with correct Spanish vocabulary and grammar.

In GramActiva, students teach and learn to and from each other in the target language by playing games and cooperatively using graphic organizers that teach grammatical points while using the language.


Graphic Organizers: In GramActiva, students individually and cooperatively use graphic organizers to differentiate grammatical points.


Quizzes: 3-4 Quizzes are completed by students for each Unit. These quizzes consist of: Vocabulary Recognition; Vocabulary Production; Grammatical Lesson 1; Grammatical Lesson 2.


Performance Tasks / Projects: In each Unit, students will complete either an oral presentation in the target language, or a written presentation in the target language. Both presentation types require production of visual props or aids to better assess comprehension of spoken and/or written material.


End of Unit Tests: Each Unit ends with a test compiled of these five parts: Listening (comprehending); Speaking (accurately with understanding of content); Reading (comprehending); Writing ( accurately with understanding of content); Discussion of cultural facts and points of interest.
