Tips For Revising

Worried about up-coming exams?

· Remember it is easier to relearn material that is already familiar. Try to look at the material a number of times over and extended period of time.

· Sleep plays an important role in building memory circuits. Going to sleep directly after learning something often helps.

· Ask a parent or friend to test you on material from a study guide.

· Write it down. By writing down what you need to remember you are reinforcing the memory.

· You remember better if your surroundings are similar to when you were learning. If possible study in the same or a similar place to where you will be tested.

· Take regular short breaks (5 min) every 30 min or so and a change in surroundings, when you go back to your work, see how much you can remember.

· Take an interest in what you are learning, when it is interesting you will find it is easier to remember. Look for things that are interesting to you about the subject you are revising.
