Lab Contract

In an attempt to make the school year interesting, fun, and successful; I have planned many “hands-on” and laboratory activities. In order for these activities to continue, all involved must come to a clear understanding of the conduct that is expected. Below is an outline of the expected behavioral outcomes for all students. Failure to comply with any of these guidelines can result in Failure of the activity (after the first time he or she chooses not follow the guidelines), Detention (after the second time he or she chooses not to follow the guidelines), and Expulsion from future activities (for any future choices to not comply with the guidelines). The Guidelines are as follows:

    1. I will RESPECT the personal space, feelings, and property of all students in my class

    2. I will RESPECT Bloomfield School District lab equipment, materials and staff

    3. I will engage in a FUN, but CALM manner throughout all activities (Horseplay must be

avoided at all times.......for safety's sake)

    4. I will complete the assigned tasks as directed by either the instructor or the lab manual

    5. I will complete my own work in my own words and I will avoid PLAGIARISM at all times

(Plagiarism is defined as the “taking of ideas, writings, etc. from another and pass them off

as one's own----Websters New World Dictionary)

    6. I will stay in the assigned space and room unless instructed differently by the teacher

    7. I will replace all used items back into their appropriate places in a clean and undamaged

    form

    8. I will report any spills, damage to materials, or other problems to the instructor so that they c

can be dealt with immediately (if materials are broken in the natural course of the activity

and the student reports mishap to the instructor, no disciplinary action will be taken—all humans make mistakes and break things)

    9. I CHOOSE to follow the above stated guidelines, and to prove so, I have signed and dated this form in the space provided below.

Please remember that any action taken by the instructor will be a direct result of the actions Chosen by the students.

Sincerely,

Faye Sanders
