03/05/2009 Rotaract Club of Grand Junction Minutes/Update
Rotaract has lots of exciting things going on! Here are the minutes from the last meeting:
Business/Program:
Thank-you for our Presentation on the country of Hungary. It was very educational and exciting to see pictures and learn about a different culture.
Chris Endreson was recognized as an official Rotaract member. Congratulations, Chris!
Please plan to attend traveling to visit the Durango Rotaract Club the weekend of May 10, 2009. Additional details to follow.

The Strike Out Homelessness Bowling Fundraiser is scheduled to take place on April 9th at GJ Scores. Rotaract is in need of 12 lane sponsors to pledge $100.00. Please contact Kate Jackson for additional details.
Rotaract will be participating in the 2009 Masquerade Ball this fall on October 30th. Additional details to follow.
Membership Recruitment:
Just a reminder…Rotaract Business Cards were handed several months ago. These business cards state general information about the club and should be used to give potential members when you are out and about in the community and run into someone that you think might be interested in coming to a meeting. The club's best resource for new members are its current members!
Rotary Clubs:
We also would like to encourage you to visit other local Rotary clubs as we are a new club and have lots to learn from experienced Rotarians. There are several local Rotary clubs and their meeting times are as follows:
-Fruita (Tuesdays at noon at the Fruita Civic Center, 2nd floor)
-Downtown (Wednesdays at noon at Two Rivers)
-Horizon Sunrise (Thursdays at 7:15am for breakfast and the meeting starts at 7:45am and ends at 8:30am, Marriott Residence Inn)
-Redlands (Friday at 12noon at Omar's Catering)
General Rotaract Club Info:
Upcoming Events: Just a reminder...Rotaract meetings are routinely held the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 12pm noon at the United Way Office (422 White Ave, #337 , GJ).
Happy Bucks:
Similar to Rotary Clubs, Rotaract has implemented "Happy Bucks" effective 4/3. Rotaract members will be fined a small amount such as $.25 or $1.00 for any violations as follows: personal cell phone ringing during meeting, members attending meetings with a business logo on their clothing, making an announcement business related, etc. The purpose of "Happy Bucks" is a fun activity to continue to increase Rotaract funds. So please come prepared with your announcements and "Happy Bucks" to donate.

Dues:
