b. Question 1: Is SOA really more abundant/important than POA? What is the fraction SOA versus POA in Amazonia? What are the production mechanisms for primary biogenic aerosols? What are their chemical and physical properties? Are there new techniques to identify them, especially in the submicron fraction where morphology is not diagnostic? Presentations

c. Question 2: What is the impact of changing aerosol levels on the Amazonian climate, both in terms of aerosol optical depth and single scattering albedo? Furthermore, how do clouds/precipitation/convection differ in a pristine Amazon aerosol environment from the current and future situation? Presentations

d. Question 3: Why is there no new particle formation in Amazonia? This question of the absence of observations of new particle nucleation in the Amazon (at least at ground level) is a very important difference from other parts of the world. Presentations

e. Question 4: What are the right precursors to SOA? To wit, are we by and large studying the wrong ones in the lab and including the wrong ones in models? Sesquiterpenes and unmeasured hydrocarbons. Presentations

f. Question 5: What are the controls on CCN & IN numbers in Amazonia? Subtopics include organics vs. inorganics; sensitivity (if any) to new particle formation (if any at altitude?); size vs. chemistry; primary, secondary, biomass burning). Are IN in Amazonia dominated by bioparticles (regional sources) or mineral dust (long range transport)? Presentations

g. Question 6: How well do we understand the lifetime of aerosols produced in the Amazon, both those produced from biomass burning or those coming from natural sources via gas-to-particle conversion from organic molecules having natural sources or bioaerosols coming from biological sources? What are the lifetimes being used in the GCMs and are they realistic for Amazonian aerosols? Presentations
