Rules & Regulations 

 

1. Objective 

                The objective of the tournament is to bring the football teams in TCC together for a time of fun and fellowship. 

                 

2. Registration 

2.1 Registration will be done on a match-by-match basis in the form of the given Team Sheets. 

2.2 Team Captains must fill up and submit the Team Sheet before every match. All players involved for the respective match must be registered in the Team Sheet. 

2.3 Team Captains are allowed to register any number of players for each match. 

2.4 There is no limit to the cumulative number of individuals a team can register for the duration of the tournament. However, only 20 medals will be given to the winning team.  

2.5 As this is an in-house tournament, Team Captains are to register a minimum of 6 Trinitarians per match. Teams are encouraged to register as many Trinitarians as possible.    

                2.6 All registered players are to turn up for the pre-match Worship and Sharing Session

   

3. Worship & Sharing 

                3.1 A worship and sharing session will be held before every match, where facilities permit. 

3.2 Teams will be rostered to lead worship and sharing sessions. Team Captains are to assign players to lead their respective sessions. 

3.3 Worship 

                3.3.1 A PA system will be provided for the conduct of worship, where possible.       

3.3.2 Teams are to provide their own props.(Guitar, Song Sheets etc) 

                3.3.3 Worship leaders are encouraged to choose familiar songs to facilitate easy participation. 

3.4 Sharing 

                3.4.1 A PA system will be provided for the conduct of sharing, where possible. 

3.4.2 The message should be a Christian-themed message. 

 

4. Gameplay 

                4.1 All games will follow the standard FIFA rules which will be administered by an appointed referee. 

4.2 All teams will play each other in a round-robin format. 3 points will be awarded to the winning team, 1       point to each team for a draw, 0 points for a loss.  

4.3 In the event of a tie in points, goal difference then head-to-head results shall separate teams. 

 

5. Substitution 

                5.1 Substitution will be rolling(unlimited substitutions). 

                5.2 Substitutions are to be carried out only with the referee’s approval, failing which a player may be warned. 

 

6. Discipline 

                6.1 A player will be suspended for the following match once he has accumulated 2 yellow cards. 

                6.2 A player will be suspended for the following match if he is sent off for a non-violent offence. 

                6.3 A player will be suspended for the tournament if he is sent off for a violent offence, like fighting. 

 

7. Demerit Points System 

7.1 To encourage Christian behaviour and to discourage teams from applying undesirable tactics, the demerit points system will be implemented. 

                7.1.1 For every yellow card a team accumulates, a team will be given 3 demerit points. 

                7.1.2 For every red card a team accumulates, a team will be given 7 demerit points. 

                7.1.3 For every 10 demerit points a team accumulates, 1 league point will be deducted. 

 

8. Attire 

                8.1 All teams are required to turn up in a uniformed attire. 

                8.2 Teams are encouraged to have a unique jersey number assigned to each player. 

                8.3 Players are not allowed to wear unapproved items(watches, necklaces, any hard objects) which may  

                cause injury to other players. 

                8.4 Players are required to wear shin guards, high socks and football boots. 

 

9. Fixtures 

                9.1 For a game to begin, a team must have a minimum of 9 players.(under FIFA regulations) 

9.2 A team that fails to turn up for a game will be adjudged to have lost the game by a scoreline of 3-0. 

9.3 In the event of inclement weather, the committee will inform the respective Team Captains of any match postponement. Postponed matches will be rescheduled to a date that will be decided between the teams. 

 

10. Player Injuries 

10.1 All players take part in the tournament at their own risk. There will be no insurance coverage for the tournament. 

10.2 All medical expenses arising from injuries sustained during the tournament will be borne by the injured player. 

10.3 Where possible, the committee will arrange for a trained medic with basic First Aid equipment to deal with minor injuries. 

10.4 In the event of a serious injury, the committee will call for an ambulance. 

 

11. Prizes 

                11.1 Overall Champions 

                                11.1.1 The winning team will be presented with the Trinity Cup during the Sports Carnival. 

                                11.1.2 20 individual medals will be presented to members of the winning team. 

                11.2 Fairplay Award 

                                11.2.1 The Fairplay Award will be given to the team that has accumulated the least demerit points. 

11.2.2 In the event that teams are tied on demerit points, a countback on red cards will be used to separate the teams. A further countback on yellow cards will be used if needed. 

                11.3 Golden Boot Award 

11.3.1 The Golden Boot Award will be given to the player who has scored the most goals in the tournament. 

11.3.2 In the event that players are tied on the number of goals scored, a best-of-three shootout from the centre point will be carried out during the Sports Carnival to separate the players. A sudden-death shootout with ensue if needed.        

                11.4 Golden Gloves Award 

11.4.1 The Golden Gloves Award will be given to the goalkeeper from the team which has conceded the least goals. 

11.4.2 In the event that teams are tied on the number of goals conceded, goal difference will be used to separate the teams.  

11.4.3 In the event that more than 1 goalkeeper has represented the team, the goalkeeper that has played the most will win the Golden Gloves Award. 

                 

12. The Committee 

12.1 All teams are to comply with the above mentioned Rules and Regulations as well as any other that may be introduced during the course of the tournament. 

12.2 The committee will decide on all matters that are not reflected in the Rules and Regulations.  

12.3 The decision of the committee is full and final.
