Turning Data Into Information (Check List)
1. Log into your Global Collaboration Site (school web address is
www.sacsvt.org )
2. Click on you Docs Menu. Open the document that contains your collected data.
(Hint: It is a spreadsheet)
3. Rename 'sheet 1' to DATA
4. Add a new sheet. Rename it to "Summary Graph"
5. Go back to your Data. Pick 1 question. SORT the data.
6. Count how many answers you got of each type.
7. Go back to your Summary sheet.
8. In column A1 (type in first answer). In column B1 type in the number of responses you got.

9. Repeat Step 8 until you are finished entering your "counts"
10. Highlight your summary data. Click INSERT - chart. Create a bar graph of your data. Fill in options.
11. Go back to Summary Graph Data.
Add the word Total.
Click in the cell next to Total.
Click on "Formula" icon (looks like a Greek letter)
Choose Sum then highlight the data to sum. Then hit Enter.
Make sure there are 2 parenthese and that the data you highlight is indeed what you want to 'sum'.
Grade Points based on
1. Each sheet renamed meaningfully
2. Summary Sheet includes count data
3. Summary Sheet includes bar graph with Chart Titles, horizontal and vertical titles.
4. Summary sheet includes at least 1 formula (i.e. Sum or Average)
5. Worksheet shared with teacher for 'grading'
