Participants Involved (Job titles where necessary)
Abigail Deamer is the demonstrator leader and all the academics in the 6 Bloomsbury Colleges are the participants involved with filling in the forms. |
Brief description of the project (Aims and Objectives)
The aim of the project is to essentially create a database for all academics working in the area of international development, for the purpose of collaborative projects.
The main objective is to have a database in which it is easy to collate data. With Google Docs, the demonstrator leader would like to provide an easy-to-use form for the participants to enter data on with universal access. It is also important to have a database that can easily be manipulated, easily searched and enable academics to use the database to search for colleagues working in the same field. |
How will Google Docs help you with your project? (i.e to use the Form to collect data, Presentation to display information or Word Processor to share formal documents)
1. To use the forms to collect data from the surveys; 2. Collaborative use internationally |
What is the plan of engagement? (What needs to happen when and who needs to do what)
1. Project Officer to provide technical support.
2. David Flanders to provide the front end (interface), to put on the VLE. |
What project outcomes do you expect? (i.e creating documents collaboratively with staff and students in more effective ways; to bridge the technological gap between students and staff)
1. To engage more staff with the LIDC
2. To create more collaborative projects
3. To promote acknowledgement of the LIDC across the six Bloomsbury Colleges. |
What encouraged you to take part in this project?
Google Docs' ability to provide solutions to the LIDC’s requirements. Previously tried PDF's and Excel documents, but they didn’t meet expectations. Google Docs looks the most promising at this moment in time. |
What sort of support will you need to make this project a success?
1. Tech support 2. API support 3. Updates on Google Docs's Forms, via the website. |
What sort of support do you think the participants will need to make this project a success?
Technical support |
