Occupation: Recruitment Administrator Age: 35 Institution: SOAS
Gender: Male

I have been working as a Recruitment Administrator for over 5 years. I
started off as an a temporary administrator assistant, and have
progressively made my way up the ladder, this is due to my speed and
efficiency getting work done on task and in time. I'm good at my job,
as am fairly quick minded, I can think on my feet and am good with
computers.
I don't particularly like or dislike my job, mostly I view it as a means
to an end; my real passion is in playing computer games after work.
I've has always wanted to be a computer games journalist, but have
never pursued my dreams because I think it's just a 'dream' job and
besides there is far too much competition out there. So my job at SOAS
suits him fine; it pays well, the people are friendly and it keeps me
occupied for the majority of the day.
At work, I work with the basic applications MS Outlook, Word, Excel and
Powerpoint, all of which I know well. I'm not a fan of social
networking sites (unlike my girlfriend, who is addicted), but I have
recently been persuaded into using Facebook, which I feel is a complete
waste of time and greatly lacking when compared to the social aspects
of video games.

Yes I've heard of the whole 'web 2.0' thing, but I really don't have any
interest in pursuing it any further that that, I can't see it really
benefiting my job, just distracting me from getting work done.

Inherently i'm a logic problem-solver type of person, I do enjoy working with
computers and more importantly computer games. I seldom use our shared
computer at home other than occasionally checking emails and browsing
the web, as I said before my real passion is for computer games on my
Xbox360, which -I believe- is where the real social web takes place!
I'm comfortable with my work-life balance, I have a fairly decent job, a
girlfriend and a good network of virtual friends through my computer
game playing. I don't really have any high ambitions, and I'm quite
happy plodding along with my day to day routine. As far as I'm
concerned I have all the tools I need and don't need anything new to
complicate things.
