PLUGGING ALONG
Perhaps you are wondering what keeps us busy these days. Well, besides six kids?! We are busy sorting, cleaning and rearranging our home to be listed for sale; we are meeting with people; Brian is in Florida studying at a global farm that specializes in third world farming techniques, and there are still items on our Transition to Ministry plan that we are continuing to work on.
What is Transition to Ministry? TTM is a program through our church that seeks to assist individuals in preparing them for transition to the ministry field. This not only includes overseas missions work, but also ministry fields here in the United States. They desire to be a training center to prepare their own people to “superbly serve” wherever the Lord leads them.
For us there have been three main areas we are studying:
1. Zambia-adjusting to life in a new culture, dealing with isolation, marriage and family issues, culture shock
2. Agriculture Operations- ongoing research for farming in another area of the world
3. Equipping Pastors-being confidently able to have a part in the equipping of students and pastors that will attend the Bible School
This has mainly been a self-study program for us. God has been faithful financially in the past few years so that we are in the unique position of being able to focus exclusively on this year of preparation and study. We’ve read many books, been engaged in various bible studies and opportunities to be taught and grow in relationships with various individuals, our training in Colorado was a part of our plan, as is Brian’s time in Florida.
The Lord has been leading our family, growing and stretching our faith. We are much better prepared for our work in Zambia than we were a year ago when we began this process.

· For the incredible times of studying, discussion, learning in God’s Word.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
· For the details of shipping the container to come together and that it gets on its way; for the funding needed to send it.
· For Brian’s time of training at ECHO, a global farm that focuses on third world farming, April 13-18; that he will learn and retain a large amount of information.
· For Zambia’s neighbor to the south, Zimbabwe, as they are still trying to freely elect a new president.
· That the Lord would reveal what HE has called us to do here, and that we would be faithful to complete it so that we would be released to our calling in Zambia.
· For the preparations for Brian to go/be in Zambia in May 17-July 12.

This month is the one year anniversary of our blog!
SUPPORT UPDATE As of April 13th: We have 121 prayer supporters!!! We have 44.9% of our monthly support committed! Due to the timing and delays with shipping the container, we have had to switch the order that our outgoing costs will be used for. At this point we have purchased or sent money to purchase all of the supplies we will need to pay for and build our home in Zambia!!! YEAH!! PRAISE THE LORD!! We have also paid $3000 towards our container. This is our updated list of outgoing costs: Container costs (including all crane, trucking, and sea costs and all duties and taxes): $20,000 One-way airfare to Zambia for family of nine: $10,000 Used vehicle in Zambia: $15,000 TOTAL UPDATED OUTGOING COSTS: $45,000 Pledged for updated outgoing costs: $5,220 The costs of the container will be the next major expense we will have, and it will be needed at any time.
