Functional Form
 - best in a stable environment (not very common nowadays)
 - not "nimble"/flexible
 - manufacturing/mining companies
 - "control orientated"
 - Used with focused/low cost strategies
 - Efficient - economies of scale

Divisional
 - Good in a heterogeneous environs

Hybrid
 - Overlaying of divisional and functional forms
 - Headquarters functional or something?

Matrix
 - Coordination difficult because of "two bosses"

Network
 - People not structure
 - Cross-functional teams: facilitate knowledge of each others' skills
 - Decision rights and boundaries blurred
 - Very flexible and adaptable

Common informal network roles
 - Central connector: links most people in the network with one another; talks the most - i.e. administrative assistants
 - Boundary spanners: span groups of various expertises; "who has the expertise?"
 - Information brokers: connect various subgroups, informal networks often managed through them, but take information with them if they leave
 - Peripheral specialists: "technical geek," pass on information as needed
