Topic: Leeward Community College

Assertion: You choose.

Assignment: Write an essay of 500 words about Leeward Community College, specifically three things you like and/or dislike about it.

The essay should be five paragraphs: an introductory paragraph, three supporting (body) paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph.

The introduction should include a catchy opening and a thesis sentence.

The three supporting (body) paragraphs should each have a clear topic sentence and good details to support the topic sentence. These details should be organized in a logical way.

The concluding paragraph should have a sentence that restates the thesis (but in different words) and ends with a good sense of closure, usually with a comment about the future.

We will be working on this in drafts, with the first draft due in the week of Oct 13. Subsequent due dates will be announced in class.
