We are looking for people from public colleges across the state to call key members of the State Legislature in support of the Green Fee Bill before its hearing Wednesday afternoon.

This bill would allow students to decide whether or not they want to pay a fee, up to $5 a semester, for sustainable campus improvements. Your campus could get organic dorm food, more recycling, energy efficiency or renewable energy installments, and more!

Texas State passed their green fee through the legislature in 2003.  The green fee we propose will make it possible for any public higher education institution to have a green fee, should the students vote to do so, and the board of regents approve it.

HB 3353 - Scheduled for Higher Ed. committee hearing 4/15/08

Critical: We need students and the public to call on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday because the hearing is on Wednesday.

Make a quick 30 second call to the Chairman! Or make two calls between each class today and tomorrow! This is a major stepping stone for the youth climate movement!

Please call your nearest representative, and/or all 9 of them.

It shouldn't take more than 15-30 seconds to state your Name, School, Hometown, and that you request support for the bills and ReEnergize Texas.
