Friday, October 3rd at Hunter Farms in Creve Coeur
A fundraiser for Congressman Kenny Hulshof who is running for Governor of MO
President George Bush was a speaker at the event
A Run for Their Lives sponsor invited 10 members of SFL
Sarah Daubach and Rachel Rath presented a Power Point with pictures from the event
Candlelight Dinner of Hope at St. Anselm Parish…….Matt Von Rueden
Saturday, October 4th, formal dinner in Creve Coeur
Fundraiser for Birthright and Our Lady’s Inn
An anonymous donor underwrote dinner for 8 SFL members
Keynote speaker was Colleen Carroll Campbell, author, columnist, television and radio host, and former White House speechwriter
Matt Von Rueden presented photos from the event
It was a good networking opportunity

New Business
Respect Life Week

30 bulletin board “kits” were provided for RAs to put up in their residence halls
Included a schedule of events and facts about our Respect Life Week theme
Tabling…………………………………………………..Kelsey Evans
Wednesday in the Quad from 11-2pm, and Thursday in the BSC from 11-2pm
Represent SFL, answer questions about our group and Respect Life Week for people who stop by our table
There are still spots open if you would like to volunteer for any amount of time

Meet Wednesday at 7pm in front of Gries to help

Purpose is to collect donations for Our Lady’s Inn

Bring the filled baby bottles to the SFL meeting next Tuesday
A Giant baby bottle will be in the Quad Wednesday from
11-2pm, encourage your friends to stop by and donate

Life Saver candies were wrapped with facts and stats
They will be passed out on Friday in the Quad

Kick-off event of the fundraising campaign for the Scholarship
Semi-formal event, Friday, October 10th, 7-10pm, Boileau Hall (at the west end of West Pine, across from Subway)
Refreshments, appetizers, chocolate fountain
Short program on the progress of SFL and the scholarship at 8pm
Potential donors and members of the community will be coming
It is crucial to have a good showing of students at this event! All SFL members should come (and bring a friend)!

Our Lady’s Inn, St. Charles location, meet at 8:15am behind Gries, painting a fence
Thrive pregnancy resource center, meet behind Gries at 9:30am

During “Upper room,” Kevin spoke on how our group is working on building a culture of life
Some members brought up concerns about how fellow students are misunderstanding the theme
Kevin suggested asking people to look at the sources of our facts and research the issue independently
We have received positive feedback about the Cemetery of the Innocents

This Friday, a reporter from St. Louis Review will be coming at 6pm to take pictures of the Cemetery and attend to “Crescendo”
Some members volunteered to meet the reporter with Steve in front of Gries

Training: Thursday, October 16th, 6:00-8:30pm, Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, Lally Room
Seminar: Saturday, October 18th, 10:30am – noon, Boland Hall, next to the St. Louis Cathedral Basilica
