        • Rickey Smiles Comedy Show

          • this Saturday, September 27th at 8pm (workers will need to be there earlier to sell before the show)

          • We need at least two more people to do this stand!

            • Find a friend and volunteer!

    1. Respect Life Week Update

      1. Cemetery of the Innocents

        • Repairing the crosses: next Wednesday, Oct. 1st, 6:30pm at Hannah Diamond’s apartment, Village C208


      1. Bulletin Boards

        • Made for RAs in the residence halls to put up on their floors

        • Will include an event calendar for Respect Life Week, and a Question-Answer area addressing our RLW theme: “Is Abortion Racist?”

        • Contact Maria Barna at mbarna@slu.edu for information on how you can help assemble the boards

      2. Jazz Event

        • Friday, Oct. 10th, approximately 7-10pm, at Boileau Hall, across from De Mattias residence hall at the west end of campus

        • Celebration and conclusion of Respect Life Week

        • Kick-off for the Pregnant and Parenting Student Assistance Scholarship fundraising campaign

    1. Make A Difference Day

      1. Morning of Saturday, October 25th

      2. Groups of volunteers are dispersed around St. Louis to do service activities and gain awareness of the community we live in

      3. SFL representative needed

        • Getting details about the event

        • Organizing members who want to participate

    2. T-shirts

      1. We will be using the same T-shirt design as last year

        • Will increase effectiveness of T-shirt Day during Respect Life Week if we are all wearing the same T-shirt

      1. Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser at Washington University

      2. October 25th, 3pm-3am

      3. Registration cost is $30

        • $5 goes towards t-shirt, music, operational costs

        • $25 goes directly to the children

      4. Need at least 5 more members to have an SFL team

    1. Tough Discussions

      1. Members broke off into groups and discussed tough questions that may come up during Respect Life Week about our theme “Is Abortion Racist?” and how to respond effectively

        • Do you think abortion is racist?

        • Why did you choose this theme?

        • What is the current direction of the national pro-life people?

      2. This discussion will be continued at next week’s meeting
