    1. Respect Life Week Update

      1. See last week’s minutes for list of events

      2. Correction: On Friday of RLW, we will be handing out Life Savers candy in the BSC, not the Quad

      3. Also on Friday, we are inviting a jazz band to campus

      4. E-mail Hannah Diamond at hannah.diamond@gmail.com if you have questions or are interested in helping out on the Respect Life Week committee

    2. Faith in Civic Action Representative

      1. We are looking for a member who is interested in representing Students for Life

      2. 12 reps from Social Justice organizations at SLU will come together to discuss how faith and civic action coincide

      3. They will attend a conference on these different issues

        • October 4th,Jefferson City, MO

        • Lobby, listen to speeches on several issues

      4. These representatives will then host an event at SLU to educate students about the topics in reference to the upcoming election

    3. Scholarship

      1. Pregnant and Parenting Student Assistance scholarship

      2. Members wrote down the names of other student organizations that they are involved in

      3. Hope to give a presentation about the Scholarship to these organizations

    4. Concession Stands

      1. Fundraising allocation: What percentage of the funds raised by working the concession stands should go toward the Scholarship vs. other SFL activities/internal events?

        • Voted on 50% or 35% going toward the Scholarship fund

        • Decided that 50% of the funds will be allocated to the Scholarship

      2. Chaifetz Arena concessions

        • Very good fundraiser, have made over $350 dollars at a single event

        • Need 10-12 people (including 4 people over 21) in order to have our own stand

        • Several sign up sheets went around

          • Volleyball games: Friday, Sep. 26th at 7pm, and Sunday, Sep. 28th at 1pm

          • Homecoming concert: Friday, Sep. 26th, time TBA

          • Rickey Smiles Comedy Show: Saturday, Sep. 27th at 8pm

        • Contact Kelly at koshea21@slu.edu to sign up for events

        • The sooner we find a group of members to work, the better location we will get!

      3. Soccer games

        • Looking for a member to organize the soccer game concession stand

          • Only responsible for three games

            • Sep. 26 at 7pm

            • Sep. 27 at 7:30pm

            • Sep. 30 at 7pm

          • Need only 4 SFL members per game

          • Great opportunity for new members!

        • Soccer game Saturday, Sep. 20th at 7pm

    1. Homecoming Golf Cart Parade

      1. Saturday, Sep. 27th, 6pm (before the soccer game)

      2. Will go though campus and end at Hermann Stadium

    2. Heartbeat” Writer Volunteers

      1. Looking for members to contribute to “Heartbeat,” SFL’s monthly e-mail newsletter

      2. Possible article ideas

        • Pro-life news article

        • Why you are a member of Students for Life?

      3. Articles should be about 1/3 page, single-spaced

      4. The article deadline for the upcoming October issue is Sep. 25th

      5. E-mail “Heartbeat” editor Katrina Becker at kbecke10@slu.edu if you would like to write an article for the October issue or any future issue. Article ideas are also welcome!

    1. Children's Hospital Dance Marathon

      1. Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser at Washington University

      2. October 25th, 3pm-3am, twelve hours of dancing!

      3. Registration cost is $30, money goes to children in the hospital

      4. Also encouraged to raise money by having people sponsor you
