  2. Opening Remarks

    1. Speaker: Dr. Michael Dixon

      1. Dr. Dixon gave an educational talk to the group about family planning including natural family planning, contraceptives (prevent conception), and birth control (preventing birth, but not necessarily conception). He spoke of how “the pill” works and its possible abortifacient effects and how “the morning after pill” and RU486 work.

    1. Baby Shower Recap

      1. Thank you to everyone who helped with the shower, it was a tremendous success! Pepe did a magic show, the mothers had a MaryKay makeover, there were baby shower games, a basket for each mother, and some members played with the kids while the moms enjoyed the shower. Great job organizing, Sarah Pingel!

    1. Scholarship Update

      1. The scholarship is now officially endowed!

      2. Still working on networking to raise the money

    2. Run Update

      1. There are 82 people registered now, but we still need more registrants!

      2. Keeping spreading the word, talk to your friends, tell your class

      3. Email runforthierlives@slu.edu if you would like to help with the Run but have not signed up yet. It is April 12th, run at 9am, set up earlier.

      4. Online ($15) registration closes April 5th

      5. Registration on the day of the Run will be $20

      6. If you or anyone you know would just like a T-shirt, go to http://pages.slu.edu/org/sfl and register, but put “T-shirt only” in the organization box

    3. Knights of Columbus Fish Fry

      1. Money donated to the scholarship fund: $2,545.61!

      2. Thanks to the Knights and to Tim Wright for suggesting the idea of raising money for the scholarship through the fish fry!

    2. Bring L'Arche to the Arch! 

      1. L'Arche is an international program where people with and without mental disabilities live together in simplicity. With over 130 communities worldwide in 35 different countries, L'Arche is soon arriving in St. Louis. 

      2. Sponsored by Campus Ministry, L'Arche to the Arch will be held on Tuesday, April 8th from 6-8pm outside on the patio of the BSC (rain location: BSC 173).  Come enjoy snacks, music, and social gathering with those involved with L'Arche St. Louis.

    3. Special Olympics

      1. April 19th, 7:30am-4:00pm, you will be paired up with a buddy to cheer on through the day
