ABOUT ENERGY ACTION COALITION
Founded in June 2004 by youth climate leaders, the Energy Action Coalition unites a diversity of organizations in an alliance that supports and strengthens the student and youth clean energy movement in North America. The 33 active and 13 supporting partners of Energy Action Coalition work together to leverage our collective power and create change for a clean, efficient, just and renewable energy future. The work of Energy Action is focused on four strategic areas: campuses, communities, corporate practices, and politics.
ABOUT CAMPUS CLIMATE CHALLENGE
The Campus Climate Challenge is the primary campaign of the Energy Action Coalition. The Challenge unites students to win 100% clean energy policies on their campuses. The Challenge is a three-year campaign of the Energy Action Coalition located on more than 500 high school and college campuses throughout the U.S. and Canada. Through its 45 organizational members, Energy Action Coalition is fueling a youth movement to stop global warming and climate change. The Challenge was designed to build a presence on targeted campuses where large numbers of students can be engaged and activated to help achieve campus victories and to build a long-term organizing structure. By working together in partnership with students to reduce the carbon emissions of their campuses down to zero, we help to provide real world models for other students, elected officials, corporate leaders and the public of how we can stop global warming now. Over the longer term, The Challenge will help to develop the next generation of political and corporate leaders who will shape future policy debates about global warming and climate change.
