My Lords, Ladies and Friends,

As many of you will be aware, the ancient Mill-enese Feast of Fools will soon be upon us, and I am delighted to invite you to join my household and myself in the se celebrations here at Port D'henri.


For those of you unfamiliar with this celebration, for generations across the Golden Nation people have celebrated this night as one of revelery and role reversal, where clergy and nobility serve their servants and all manner of merriment can be enjoyed that there is little time for otherwise in a busy year.

 

Therefore, I would be honoured if you could join us for an informal evening of gaming and feasting, in the true spirit of this time honoured tradition.

 

I may well not be your host for the night (as is in keeping with the theme of the night) but I would be honoured if you would join me for the nights.

This is a player event set in Profound Decisions world of Maelstrom aimed at Players in the Summer Court and friends. It is being run under Mandala Lrp Umbrella.

 

What is a Player Event?

In summary for those who don’t know a player event is an event run by players in the Maelstrom universe. There will be no plot or refs at the event and it is run on a trust basis.

 

Who are Mandala LRP?

 

Mandala LRP was set up by a group of people who enjoy running and playing live roleplay events. It is not a money making venture and the intention is to provide a stable backdrop for successful events. Rather than limit ourselves to one system, or one style of play, Mandala is intended as an umbrella organisation which can run any type of event in any type of system. The only constant factors being quality of event, commitment to player satisfaction and enjoyment for the refs and crew.

So who is actually running it?

Sam , who plays Dr de Havilland, Sarah, who plays Amilie d'Angouleme, Mike Chappel and Tom Jewell are the main organisers of this event.

 

So can anyone attend?

 

The event is primarily aimed at members of the Summer Court. Other non members may be invited on an individual or group basis.  If you have heard about the event and got your hands on this booking form and want to come along then please contact the organisers and ask we promise not to bite. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any character or player entry if they so choose.

 


So why should I come what have you got planned?

 

Nothing has been finalised as yet and we welcome ideas and suggestions. This has come about very last minute as a site suddenly became available which Mandala LRP were planning to use for a different event.

The basic idea will be OOC Friday with an IC relatively informal meeting on saturday afternoon and evening with food laid on as part of the cost.

We are also hoping to practise putting up the summer court tents on Saturday morning and possibly sunday morning to check how we want to lay them out and also if we want to make any hangings or other dressings for the tent.

When is it?

 

Friday 15th February to Sunday 17th February

 

So how much then?

 

We realise that this is very short notice but we would appreciate money asap the price of the event is £20 or £30 on the door. We reserve the right to turn anyone away who turns up on the day and has not booked.

 

There are also a limited number of crew spaces if people are interested. Please contact us if you are interested in crewing instead of playing or know someone who may be interested in helping crew.

 

Accommodation?

 

There are 44 beds on site in a number of bunk rooms. There is also a large hall which people can sleep in if all the bunks are full. 

 

There is also space for people to camp if they wish to or if all the beds are filled.

 

Can I bring my kids?

 

As this is the player event the same age restrictions do not need to apply as do at a PD event. This means that children are allowed to attend if we are willing to do this. If you need to bring your children with you to this event please contact us to discuss this so we can make a call on if we are happy with this arrangement. We can not provide separate accommodation for families though.

Will I get a confirmation of my Booking?

 

Once we have received your booking we will send an IC invite out and will also confirm the booking. These may not be straight away as we may well want to get a few bookings in first.

 

You will also receive an event pack by e-mail before the event, if you do not have an e-mail address this will be sent by normal mail.


 



On a final note



If people would like to attend if they could let me know as soon as possible, as we'd obviously like as many of us there as possible before we start adding others.  Apologies to anyone who's received this who's already let us know if they won't be able to attend. Having said that if you can't make it please let us know as well so we can mark you down as not being able to make it which will help us with predicting our numbers.

 

Also, if there is anyone you/your character would like invited from outside the Summer Court if you can please let us know asap.

 

Obviously we appreciate this is a busy time of year for everyone but as time's a little short for organising this we'd be very grateful if people could get back to us as soon as possible as much so we can confirm we will get enough attendee's to make this worth while.
