We will be having a FOSS & GNU/Linux fest at NIT Agartala for 2 days between 15-20 July at NIT Agartala. Dates are kept flexible to be able to incorporate more speakers for the programme.

I would like to request for sponsorship to make our event a success. The details are on the web-links below : our GNU/Linux Users Group(GLUG) & Fedora events listing. Please verify my claims. It will be a mega event having attendees from many esteemed colleges & I solicit your co-operation to make it a great success in its inaugural year. The event will give you a lot of publicity and help you reach out to your target audience in the much unexplored market in the North-East.

About the event-

This is the first time such an event is being conducted in the North East & will tap into the right audience. We are registered as a Fedora evemt & a Fedora Release party. Inviting all the NITs & IITs and other reputed institutions through official college invitation. In partucular, will have a large number of participants of IIT Guwahati, NIT Silchar(our Director is its joint head), NIT Durgapur, Jadavpur University & NERIST, Itanagar. Local institutes Tripura Institute of Technology(TIT), ICFAI, Tripura Medical College(TMC) and other local colleges & schools also to be officially invited by college.

Expected attendance-

Expected attendance of over 1,000 people over the two days.

The faculties of Computer Science & Engineering & heads of institutions from in & around the city and nearby colleges(i.e. NIT Silchar & IIT Guwahati) will be invited officially

Program

Install fest- newer features like Live USB also will be undertaken
Talks via VoIP with Fedora & O'Reilly speakers(negotiations ongoing). Having Gordon Meyer (Author & key employee of Apple) to give a talk on DIYs as part of the extension of Open Source hardware via VoIP
Presentations & workshops(including on Qcad, QUCS & Scilab) by eminent speakers including Shakthi Kannan(key FOSS contributor & Fedora ambassador) & probably also Pradeepto Bhattacharya(KDE developer & Asia head), Rangeen Basu(NIT Durgapur passout, FEL contributor & Fedora ambassador) & a few NIT Agartala GLUG members
Will fully use the offline repository to be handed to us by Rangeen. Thanks a lot to NIT Durgapur LUG
