SCIA01 Final Project Guideline
Instructions 一般指引
Form groups of 4-6 students within the same section.
Study a science-related topic. The topic may or may not be the same as the topic of the first and second presentations during the term.
Give an oral presentation in the last 2 weeks of the term.
By the last day of Term 2, submit hardcopies and softcopies of your group report, presentation materials and individual reports of all the group members.
Group Report Specifications 小組報告
Write 5 to 15 A4 pages for the group report, which should cover the topic presented in the last 20-minute presentation. It should contain the following:

Project Cover Page with all the information filled
in.
A well-organized report of the topic being studied.
Group Presentation Specifications 小組口頭報告
Each group will be given 20 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for a Q&A session:
The presentation is to be conducted in Cantonese, English or Mandarin.
You are expected to make good use of PowerPoint or similar computer softwares during the presentation. You are also free to explore your own creativity and add interactive ingredients to your presentation.
Every group member must participate in either the presentation or Q&A session. Each student will receive an individual mark as well as a group mark.
Individual Report Specifications 個人報告
Write 2-3 A4 pages for the individual report. It should provide answers to the following questions:
Which part of the topic have you read in detail?
What problems have you encountered in the project?
What have you learnt from the project?
You may write more if you like. Please also remember to include your full name, your student ID and your email address in the individual report.
Other Formatting Requirements 其它格式要求
Please adhere to the following rules in preparing your materials:
The group reports and individual reports should be typed. The font size should not exceed 12pt. Hand-written reports are not accepted.
Except for audio-visual materials or computer software, all materials must be submitted as hard copies.

Please use the following checklist to verify that you have submitted all the required materials by their corresponding due date.
Late submission will NOT be accepted. 遲交者將不獲受理。
For the reports, please bind everything together in a folder, box,
paper envelop, etc. so that they do not fall out easily. Please
submit them in a whole. The instructor would not be responsible for
any lost items otherwise.

Other Points to Note 其他要注意的事項
Always remember to quote where you find your data/information. Directly copying from other people’s works without quoting the reference is considered plagiarism.
Plagiarism, if found, would cause considerable mark loss to your project!
抄襲可引致嚴重後果,切勿以身犯險。
Finally, merits will be given to the reports for thorough and correct investigation. In addition, interesting and lively presentation and writing skills would bring you bonus marks for sure.
