UO Women Prepare to Take Back the Night
This April, University of Oregon students will rally and march across Eugene to raise awareness about violence, sexual assault and harassment of women.
Take Back the Night will take place April 17, 2008, at 5 p.m. The event will begin with an empowerment rally followed by a march across Eugene.
More than 11 years have passed since Sexual Assault Support Services in Eugene and the University of Oregon Women’s Center joined forces to ensure that Lane County took part in this international movement.
More than 300 people assemble every spring to take part in this international event. The rally, march and speak out happens every year in April.
For more information, students can contact the coordinator for the University of Oregon 2008 Take Back the Night, Carmen Hinckley, at svpewc@gmail.com.
Information about Take Back the Night around the world can be found at http://www.takebackthenight.org.
