Lesson: Students make their own test.
Read the entire sheet before proceeding.
Pick out the five to ten most important pieces of information.
Summarize it in the clearest way possible.
Find a creative way to ask that information.
In pairs students will create a worksheet and quiz:
1. Read the section that you have been assigned.
2. Choose 5 to 10 of the most important pieces of information from the section you have been assigned.
In the text look for important concepts, vocabulary, insight and skills as well as facts.
3. Create a worksheet that will help students learn these important skills, information or concepts.
4. Create a quiz of five questions. (Use your creativity. No “true and false.”)
5. Hand completed sheet to nearest neighbor pair for evaluation.
Criteria for evaluations:
Are names of creators and Chapter and section included?
Can you read it? Is it legible?
Do you understand it? Is the worksheet doable?
Are the questions clear? Is more information needed?
Do the worksheet and test connect? Will doing the worksheet help with the test?
Are the answers included with the quiz? (They should be included.)
