Welcome to World Geography CP. The purpose of this class is to provide students with a better understanding of the world around them. Rapid globalization has truly made the world a smaller place. It is therefore critical that students comprehend how global issues affect their own life. Students will learn map skills, geographical vocabulary, locations of important continents, countries, and cities, physical geography, and cultural geography. Our focus will not be to memorize information, but to use our geographic knowledge to better understand how people throughout the world relate to their environment. We will address important topics such as: Are we using our natural resources appropriately? Do our surroundings shape our culture and life style? How does what happens in other parts of the world affect me?
